I think my fave is the guy in the red wife beater.

I dont read the books nor want to read any spoilers about them, but shouldnt the House Stark now fall under the control of Tyrion (as husband to the eldest heir, Sansa)?

Sort of? But since The Starks don't currently hold Winterfell it doesn't matter as much...Eh it's hard to explain more without spoilers.

I think House Stark is out of the picture at this point in terms of political power and influence. Winterfell has been destroyed, Eddard and Catelyn and Robb are dead and the remaining children are scattered and missing or believed dead. I would imagine that Tywin's first order of business will be to promote somebody and grant them title and land in the north, just like he gave Harrenhal to Littlefinger after Blackwater. You wipe out your enemies and repay your allies with positions of power and influence in previously contested areas. Occupying the north with Lannister forces and allies will kill whatever might be left of the rebellion. The north is really up for grabs at this point, and I don't think Tywin is the type to ignore that for very long.

Politically, I don't think it matters any more whether or not the Stark kids are out there, because the house is so shattered that nobody is going to give their allegiance at this point. It wouldn't surprise me if Tyrion gets sent there with Sansa, as there were hints that Tywin would give him an appropriate home at some point. That would put a Lannister in the north along with a surviving Stark, which just might be enough to satisfy any of the northerners who still have some loyalty to the Stark name.

Tywin really knows what he's doing.

the main problem is there is no king of the North, unless you mean lord of winterfell. King of the North is a title Robb took and one that kings landing does not recognize.

And one more thing ,the guy they got to play Walder Frey is absolutely perfect. Great casting in GoT.
Some of the best have been
Ned Stark
King Robert ( regardless of his height)
Lord Tywin
Catelyn Stark
Varys and Littlefinger ( love these two)
Tyrion
Brienne of Tarth
Queen of Thorns, Lady Odella
It took me a bit to warm up to Stannis but I dig him now.

The only one I was pretty unhappy with was Renly. The dude had no charisma at all. He was green, pompous and arrogant just like in the book but his diologue was fun to read. He didn't have a big part in the book at all but the scene with his meeting with Stannis in the Stormlands were fun to read. You could understand why people liked Renly, in the show he was a bore.

He really is a great actor. He will be playing William Hartnell (The first Doctor Who) this fall in a docudrama about the early days of Doctor Who.

I'm not going to pretend I know who he is because I don't but he nailed that role. Just as much as Charles Dance nailed Tywin.

Dance did more than nail the Tywin character imho, he brought real depth to it that wasn't in the original material. In the books Tywin is sort of the Lannister counterpart to Stannis Baratheon in my mind. Both are cold and rigid, but Tywin is the better strategist and schemer.

Not in the books. He survives the red wedding.
Thanks.

I figured as much the way they rush him out to begin the "wedding bedding". Can you tell me why they kept him alive? Unless it's some obvious reason I'm missing, I would guess that it's so Frey can still have a connection to the Tullys, but I think that's a bit unlikely considering he just had Catelyn and her uncle slaughtered.... :lol

I assumed edmure's uncle was in on he plot with that dialog about fools being favored or lucky or something and then him leaving to handle his business

Hands down the most frightening thing I've seen in a show and the most shocking moment ever. I just watched it again and the whole buildup is just so tense and then when it happens it hits you hard.

You know it really is, even for HBO. Sure with Rome, Deadwood and the Sopranos a lot of violent **** went down and insanity insued. But the Red Wedding on screen was perfect because it was just as disturbing and emotionally gripping and shocking as it was in the book. And it is in a whole different league of bad **** going down. Weiss and Benioff neailed it. Hell, Hawkeye Pierce's retelling of what happened on the bus with the baby in the last MASH episode still freaks me out, but the Red Wedding is in a totally different category of freak out. After two days, I'm still just as jilted and disturbed by it. All I got to say is some mother ****er better pay!

I don't mean a king, of course. I'm thinking of whatever title Ned Stark held. Or Tywin can create a new title, so long as he can place an ally in the north.

EDIT: A little Googling told me that Eddard was "Warden of the North." So I presume that Tywin will name a new Warden. Possibly Tyrion?

So Im reading over at ASOIF forum that a lot of readers weren't happy with the Red Wedding show version. I can understand that. You can't match the forboding of that chapter and there were a few things that I wish I saw ,mainly from Cat. She truly loses her mind in the book.
