Game of Thrones hit a season high of 3 million viewers for the finale! The show premiered with 2.2 million and has risen each week, so this bodes well for good DVD/Blu-ray sales and a strong second season premiere.

Game of Thrones was a grower, not a shower.

After a relatively average launch of 2.2 million viewers, Thrones continued to edge higher in the ratings all season. With its tenth episode finale, Thrones hit a strong number that HBO had been targeting: 3 million viewers. Adding the show’s repeat at 11 p.m., a total of 3.9 million viewers tuned in. The show continues to average 8.3 million viewers when you include all repeats, DVR and On Demand viewing. Guess those viewers pledging they would stop watching after Episode 9′s shocking event couldn’t stay away?

So, it would seem that series 2 will still be called 'Game of Thrones' and not 'Clash of Kings', as i had thought!

Yeah, I had figured every season would be named after the next book in the series... So next spring for season 2 then?... At least Walking Dead season 2 will get me through a portion of that time. :(

so now my wife is watching this & catching up via on demand & i'm re-watching all the episodes.............& i really dont mind at all...........:)

It makes sense from a marketing point of view.

Just finished the first, which I deliberately held off on reading until after season 1 ended.

Will do the same with second. I truly enjoyed going into the HBO series fresh and with no prior knowledge.

I was debating doing that but I can't wait a year, want to see what happens...

I just started book three-- but I waited to start book one until after I watched the HBO series...

I'm into book 2 now - no way I'll be able to wait after finishing it.

This is going to be an interesting panel at SDCC I have a feeling. Lots of the stars there too.

I just got all the books - but haven't started reading them out. This is one panel I would like to see as well.

I tore through the first two and just cracked open the third today-- The problem is that while I have the fourth sitting--- waiting for me-- there's currently no fifth so I'm going to go into withdrawal once I reach the end of what I've got-- probably in a week.

Start. I guarantee you'll love them. :wink1:
