How are people thinking Rhaegar is anyone but Dany's brother? She even named 2 of her dragons after her deceased brothers.

Jon is now above Dany in terms of legitimacy to the throne, but I don't really see him ruling....he doesn't really want that kind of position.

I didn't mind the idea of Jon being a ******* son of Rhaegar, but to have had Rhaegar annul his marriage to Elia and essentially *******ise his children he had with her, that is a little off.

Jon cannot die by dragon fire.

When that happens, everyone will know.
That is not a given. Daenerys was only unburnt originally because of the witch and Dragon eggs in the pyre. She was never meant to be resilient to fire in the books.

They may have made her resilient in the series, but I don't believe that extends to all Targaryen's.

Jon has been brought back from the dead, so he could now be resilient to fire, but he was burnt early on in the series.

This seems all a little too neat to me personally

Ginny just stumbles across a scroll that is Rhaegar's annulment to Elia and marries in a secret ceremony, obviously to Lyanna Stark. This is almost like fan fiction territory to me lol. So now there is evidence that Jon is a true born Targaryen.

Great to see Jorah back, he didn't look too happy to see Daenerys looking at Jon lol. I don't expect Jorah to survive this latest mission.

Has anyone else besides Jon petted Drogon? Dany didn't say anything about it, but from the look on her face she was quite amazed how Drogon had reacted to him.

I thought it was pretty neat how Gilly stumbles across this, in a scroll from a guy that almost no one bothers to read because he spends so much energy documenting inane **** (literally). Samwell gets told one of the most consequential bits of news that anyone could possibly hear, and doesn't even pay it enough attention to think it through because of his obsession with the dead.

I assumed that Jon was able to pet the dragon because it sensed his Targaryen blood.

The joke of the night was cringy
Do you mean the joke about the sealed scroll meant for Jon? I thought it was hilarious, because it was so obvious. I was waiting for it :lol Very curious about Varys and Tyrion now that both are having doubts about Dany.

Though chances are extremely low, I could actually imagine Gendry on the throne after all is said and done. In some ways, it would be an appropriate end to a series that gets off on defying expectations.

I was fine with all of that, I have zero complaints about this season, except perhaps, for its brevity.

There was also the joke about Gendry rowing. It's been a meme for a few years now, and Davos saying that he thought Gendry might still be rowing was somewhat of a 4th wall breaking moment.

It's pretty obvious where they are going with Dany and Jon. They can both keep their character arch inertia by getting married. They both have the iron throne and Jon will remain King of the North and Dany will be Queen.

This was one of the budget-saving episodes.

Not necessarily. We got lots of dragon screen time in this, even if they weren't in full battle mode. Lots of close ups of Drogon, so that was probably expensive. We got some Raven eyed views of the wights and white walkers. We got to see a new section of the wall. The farewell shot of Oldtown as Sam left. Lots of CGI was still used in this episode, even if it wasn't as epic as last weeks. It for sure was cheaper than last week's episode, but probably not by as much as you'd think. I mean, we still haven't seen Ghost this season, so its not like they've got an unlimited budget either. I can't help but wonder if they kept the budget for 10 episodes but got to use it over 7 episodes. And the same for next season with just 6. I would think HBO would be willing to give them whatever the need at this point to wrap up the series on a high note, but at the end of the day, this is still a TV show. The dragons are movie quality CGI, no question. Walking Dead can't even get a decent background CGI to look real, so HBO is certainly not skimping on the budget, even in slower episodes.

I would be happy with this ending. Are there many people that have an issue with the incest part of this pairing or do you find it not a big deal in the grand scheme of things? I kind of wonder if the Mad King had never been overthrown and Jon was raised as Targaryen that he and Daenerys may have been betrothed to one another anyway.

How about Cersei. Really pregnant or is it a ploy? We know she was told she would have 3 children and all of them would die, so chances are if there is a baby, it will never be born.

That annulment means Jon boy has the rightful claim to the Iron throne.

I can't imagine how much they would be spending on each episode this season. It must be a ridiculous amount of money.
