Considering Daenerys is barely in Book 2, it will be interesting to see if they include story elements from Book 3 or make stuff up in order to pad out her airtime.

I can't remember how much she had in there, I think there was enough. But they are definitely bringing stuff from Book 3 so maybe they will.

Been working through the blu-rays and commentaries - the 3rd episode with the Stark kids is just great. They are obviously very into the story and characters and are really smart. They go on about trying to analyze what Sean Bean does that make him a great actor but don't come to any conclusions, but it's cool to see they're trying to improve in the craft. Also poor Brand is always "I wasn't there" or "I never met him" when the girls are talking about a location or actor - poor guy was laid up in the bed.

Very impressed with this blu-ray collection so far, just from the commentaries.

Yes, I watched the entire first season with the commentaries just prior to season two's debut. Martin's commentary is great on the episode that he wrote.

So were the scenes where Cersei and Littlefinger discuss Power and the scene where Cersei slaps Joffrey added to the show because I don't remember them from the book. I didn't think Joffery mentions the incest rumours? I've read book 2, but I can't remember exactly.

Did people invision characters differently? I thought Stannis would look different, I was thinking Davos was Stannis until he went out to pull the sword. I also pictured Melisandre to look differently.

Yeah, the Littlefinger stuff is added, since he will have a role next book I think they wanted to build him up a little.

I think Joffrey knew about the incest stuff, since there's much implied about things that he does about it.

I'm not so sure about the casting of Stannis, Davos is fine I think though.

Yea, I agree. I feel like like the guy playing Davos should be playing Stannis and vice versa.

Stannis is younger than Robert, so even though he's an old seeming character, I think the casting is okay. I imagined Davos younger though. I'm looking forward to seeing Briereus (sp?) - the actress is kinda hot - so I'm anxious to see how they ugly her up.

Next to Tyrion she's definitely one of my favourite characters from the books so I'm really looking forward to how she'll be portrayed in the show.

Good episode, except the actress playing Theon's sister (Yara, or Asha in the books) is not nearly as pretty as she's supposed to be.

Decent episode. I could honestly do without some sex scene every other scene though. It kind of kills the flow of the story when overdone.

Very much agree. There were 3 different scenes back to back. And Littlefinger whipping the chicks mouth off was gross.

Book 2 has so much that happens it seems like they shouldn't waste so much screen time on scenes that don't advance plot/characters.

I loved the full shot of Ghost tonight! He looks awesome.

Agree.
The scene with Littlefinger was gratuitous in the extreme.
Some times less is more.

Ghost was cool but Snow should be in the habit of taking him every where as the last scene proved.
