Enterbay has been the only competition for Hot Toys. They have a serious case of p****-envy every time Enterbay tries to 1-Up them on Bruce Lee or Arnold. They immediately respond with a product to compete. If only Enterbay was cheaper than Hot Toys and had better QC and turnaround times which are worse than either Hot Toys or Sideshow. Art Figures is good too for the price. Heck, they will probably give us the rest of the Expendables crew.

Yeah, we like Art Figures a lot too, it's just that their stuff is unlicensed.

Your stuff seems to fly so I'd say the interest is definitely there. No doubt about it. As far as the hobby overall, while the prices are getting outrageous I don't see people quitting any time soon. More and more people seem to be coming into the hobby as well.

Also, it's not Toy Anxiety's fault if they haven't received the figures yet. It's my understanding that they update as they get stock and product in. It's out of their hands and up to the distributor. If they don't have the goods, they can't update. And yeah, there's always that problem too. What if you stock up on a bunch of figures that you think will be hits and they just sit around? There's definitely a risk to be had there. I'd rather have product sold then sitting on a ton of figures and parts that will never sell.

Seems like TA's business is either feast or famine. On days when they have new Hot product to part out that gets gobbled up by the vultures in minutes they can afford to take a day or two off after to recover. I was half-joking about being asleep at the wheel this week, only because I check for updates everyday and not much, aside from Patton and Steven Seagal, was parted out this week when most were expecting Joker 2.0 and were chomping at the bit to get some. Is there any way you could part out more older figures on trade and consignment just to keep the selection of loose parts and product inventory replenished? It's always a surprise to see something like a Dastan unexpectedly parted out without even a mention in the update.

Trust me, we are always trying to get collections of older product, and do have some in the pipeline. It's just hard to buy this type of stuff at the right price that's fair to the seller, but low enough that we don't have to inflate our prices too much if at all.

It's got to drive you batty as a business owner....I'm sure if you had 10 each of Hawkeye, Cap, Thor, DX11, DX12, Black Widow they'd all be gone in no time. But yet you can't get any.

It's kind of a weird thought process to me. It's like HT is leaving a LOT of money on the table, seems like they could sell a lot more stuff.

Speaking of which, you should be getting the goods today or tomorrow. It's in Phoenix now I believe. :wink1:

Batty? To say the least. Having the ability to grow your profit and customer base stifled by a quantity limit is torturous! Hot Toys is a big slab of meat, and we are the lion, but are only allowed to nibble on that slab. LION HUNGRY!!! BTW, we generally used to order 40 each, sometimes more, of partoutable Hot Toys figures, but of that 40, we are being cut down to 30. That's pretty significant. :gah:

That does suck, especially when other retailers get several hundred still. Is the allotment all based on the size of the retailer? Seems like a 25% cut is a major FAIL on HT/SS's part. Considering these aren't numbered or limited, they should be making as many as possible, as ordered. :cuckoo:

When you say other retailers, who do you mean, and how do you know? Feel free to PM if you don't want to say here.

That's what I was saying, they're leaving a lot of money on the table by making less figures. Doesn't make sense to me.

Bigbadtoystore had 60 Banes in stock last week. They get a ridiculous amount of stock.
Maybe that's why you guys have been getting your shipments jacked.

Yeah, I was aware they were getting a lot more, and actually confronted our rep about that, but got no good explanation, but it's not our rep's fault. She's just doing what she's told. We are handcuffed.

Sucks.
You guys should get first dibs
You guys do a great service to the 1/6 scale community & kitbashers by breaking down figures.

On their site. Add a hot toys figure to your cart. Then raise the quantity amount to a ridiculous number like 1000, then you can see how many of that figure they have in stock.

Let it be known to the world! This is something Sideshow seems to not understand about us. What we do us different than most of their retailers and we NEED more product to satisfy our unique demand for parts, though it is one of our conspiracy theories that either Hot Toys or Sideshow does not like the parting out of their figures.

Yep, done that very thing.

If only Hot Toys would give us a direct account. They won't even reply to my emails.

I think from what I've heard Toys2 doesn't get their stock from SS if I'm not mistaken but rather direct from HT. Might be b/c they're in Canada but maybe contacting them to see if they might be able to point you in the right direction to get things directly from HT instead of having to go through SS??

Hot Toys has the WORST customer service in the business. They never replied to my repeated e-mails about the rubber deteriorating on the dome of ED-209 or the broken joints on my Aliens warriors. They just don't care.

Do you keep buying HT products?
