I personally would only live in one other place beside socal. The weather is great, hardly rains and as they said before a drop and its major storm watch:lol. Plus no Hurricanes, Blizzards, or Tornados, yeah earthquakes here but they are rare and most dont do much damage if any, and they are kinda fun, they are kinda like a amusment park ride if your in bed.:lol

So with all that said, I vote for MA.

We don't have room. :monkey1

I have to vote for staying close to the kids.

Will it really be enough for you to only see them a few times a year?

Los Angeles is the center of the universe. But...

CA = Paying way too much for everything + Sideshow charges 8.25% sales tax + rush hour is 14 hours long + you gotta pay for parking everywhere you go.

So I'd suggest MA. But I really hate spending half an hour to drive 3 miles to get to the In'N'Out (think White Castle but so much better) only to circle the parking lot and not find a space.

I am weighing my options here, with an eye toward relocation in early-mid 2008. Staying here in Atlanta IS an option (especially concering the kids) but I have pretty much decided that I need to move. So, I have so far whittled it down to the following:

Option 1: NEW ENGLAND (Boston, MA area; New Haven, CT area; or Coast of Southern Maine)

Pros: Cool history and culture. Generally nice people. Lots of Irish (like me :D ). Four true seasons. Usually a white Christmas. Some good job markets. Great food & drink. THE RED SOX.

Cons: Some brutal Winter storms. Boston College.

Option 2: CALIFORNIA (L.A. area or Bay area)

Pros: Lots of cool career possibilities. Generally nice weather. More beautiful women on average than anywhere else.

Cons: LOTS of people. Cost of living through the roof. Smog. USC Trojans.

Input? Ideas? More PROS and CONS for each??

Option 3: COLORADO (Denver, Ft. Collins, Colorado Springs)

Pros: Beautiful Rocky Mountains, Lots of cool career possibilities, Hockey, Cold weather in the winter but a change of seasons, Aspen trees, rich Western history, outdoor activities including hiking, great shopping, great sports teams including the Broncos, Avalanche, Rockies and Nuggets, Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Estes National Park, etc, etc, etc .

Cons: Cost of living has risen dramatically over the past decade, beauty overload from the scenery everytime you leave your house, too many partying people, too many activities that help you spend your cash.

Have you considered the Pacific Northwest? Not 4 seasons exactly but excellent mild weather all year long. I never had to use an air conditioner in summer (for 1 week in the "heat", I used a fan). Plenty of job opportunities (Microsoft, and all the wannabe support businesses, etc.). Within 1 hour you have your ocean/beaches; go in another direction for an hour for skiing and mountaineering in the Cascades; just a little beyond the Cascades to the east, you've got the Yakima Valley and a tad beyond, the drier semi-desert area. Canada (British Columbia) is only a short distance north. You can ride a sea-going ferry to Victoria or even to Alaska. The really big Con would be that the main interstate (I-5) can be a mess to drive. But if you're used to traffic, probably not any worse than Atlanta. And it doesn't rain nearly as much as folks want to say. No hurricanes, tornadoes, and depending on where you wind up, no earthquakes (there are parts of the Puget Sound area that has a foundation in bedrock), and not even lightning (that I recall).

I vote for New England, b/c you're able to enjoy a good winter (that's a huge thing for me, to have a white christmas or at least some snow) and you're also able to drive to cool cities like new york, philly, DC, etc.

Good luck in your adventures :rock

SHHHHHHHHH.. we are trying to keep people away from here so stop talking us up. Its getting too crowded as it is. :)

Come on, dude. She's hideous.

She's the Anti-Viagra. One look at her destroyed grill and stuff down there won't work for at least a week.

:monkey1

I don't know, I think of Glen Close when I think hideous. I think Bjork is rather cute in a pixie sort of way. I don't think she's "hot", but I have always thought she was "cute".

Can't stand California. The people are rude, everything is expensive, it is extremely crowded, there are used needles lying on the beaches, the beaches are crowded and smells. Downtown Los Angeles looks like the scene from Blade Runner without the rain. Gangs are rampant over there as well.

Spent a summer in Hollywood and Studio City with friends of mine ten years ago. Never will do that again.

Nice place to visit I guess, but I will never live there.

Well, she's also roughly 40-42 years old now. I have been a fan of hers since the mid 90's.

And if you want to post pics of women that look like worse when pregnant then post pics of most women when they are pregnant.

Upset me? I am not upset. I am just giving my opinion. I also knew you would mention a couple of women who you thought still looked hot pregnant. I said MOST not all, but not all looked worse.

As for not liking women that look 40 something, good luck when you're 40 or 50, I am sure you'll be pulling all the 19 year olds

Really, they charge 8.25%? Oh, wait I'm guessing because you're in L.A. county you get charged that % (duh). This is why Ventura county is the place to live (close enough to L.A., you don't have to pay for parking everywhere you go, cheaper sales tax and it's beautiful. Of course there are the cons of rush hour traffic, expensive housing and not a lot to do).
