I don't think they made Sylar look weak at all, they just let up a tinge on the speed in which he defeated her. He still completely demolished her physically and emotionally.

Also, while the writers wanted her to be manhandled, they wanted to show that there is at least something in her that can be toned into a fighter. Had she gone out like any other Sylar victim, we'd dismiss Claire as a potential strong character down the road.

Also, I believe Sylar was still recovering and not yet at full power from the end of last year.

True, cause we really don't know what part of the future that was. maybe it was Hiro that was evil and Ando had to stop hom. Though the Future Hiro we know is a good guy?

Damn, this show is gonna have more twists than Lost!!!!

And as for Sylar, where the heck did he get the TK and shadow walking powers already?? I remember him having no powers at the end of last season. And not even being able to absorb powers. And did he even take the Mexican girls power. I know he killer bher brother or some ^^^^, but I'm kinda lost of stuff. And I watch all the episodes. Maybe I need to go buy the Blu-Ray set this weekend and rewatch them all.

It was a different future because it wasn't Ninja Hiro. Also Ando said "You betrayed me" before hadoken'ing him so you have assume if he wasn't evil Hiro was definitely on the wrong side of it.

He received his powers back after the injection of Mohinder's blood which is null and void after his recent experiment one would think. He did the TK at the end of last season probably because now that he remembers he can reconfigure his brain to reassume those powers. He never took Maya's power just slept with her and he didn't have is abilities back in time to steal Alejandro's. His power isn't Empathic mimicry like Peter's its Intuitive Aptitude, which means after cracking their heads open he can visualize the adjustments needed to gain that particular power.

In Clips from the missing episodes on the Season Two DVD show that once Sylar got his powers back he went back to killing and acquiring powers. In the episode, Elle tells her father that Sylar has acquired four new powers, though we see only two of the thefts take place: he steals the abilities of impenetrable skin from a character named Robert Keep and dynamic camouflage from a character called "Chameleon Girl". That is where the "shadow walking" probably is from.

Are you sure it was Ando that said "You betrayed me"? I thought Hiro said that and Ando said something like "no, you're wrong" and then Ando only blasted him in self defense?

While those were cut from Season 2, I don't think they're canon anymore. At least not the impenetrable skin... considering Sylar gets shot, stabbed, and sliced in the first two episodes of the new season. Not very good impenetrable skin, I'd say. :lol

A shame, too... because it was brutally brilliant how he got the brain from Robert Keep.

Well one could argue that he has to be aware to use the powers. He was caught off guard by Claire, he didn't have time to activate his powers but you're probably right, they aren't canon most likely.

I thought it was Hiro who said "you betrayed me" as well, but I have a horrible memory so take that with a grain of salt. I felt bad for Ando last night.

I always feel bad for Ando when Hiro just jumps out of there. Ando needs to reach out and hitch a ride.

My wife missed it last night so she has to watch it again tonight on TiVo so I'll have to park next to her and be sure.

I think it's a shame the direction they've taked Mohinder. I saw him becoming a Professor X type leader helping bring these heroes together. Somewhere along the line it seems like they couldn't figure out what to do with him, so they just sorta toss him in as a B plot.

I have to agree. I loved the non powered human involved so deeply into their world. Giving him powers makes him just another character and an unneeded one in reality because it sounds like his powers will remove him from the entire situation really and move him into exile....one would think.

The Fly thing, well, bugs me. They're both rip off concepts, but I was hoping for something more in lines with Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde.

He sure seemed to "want" powers quite quickly. From what happend to him in the first two seasons, he seemed to want to understand how people use their powers, not just madly rush injecting himself with something that he doesn't understand. But I will agree, I hope he turns into the FLY and flys away from the main plot of the show.

I agree about Mohinder being powerless. It's part of what makes HRGClaire's dad such a good character. In a show full of people with super powers he still manages to be a bad ass and more importantly interesting.

Good. He sucks.

I agree. I stopped watching towards the end of last season. Although this season looks promising, I still wonder... Mohinder's character took a major leap backwards in my opinion. However, this episode will have me back for another one...

If he was just irrelevant he'd be more tolerable. The problem is he's irrelevant, completely one-dimensional ("My research..." this and "My father's research..." that) and insufferably sanctimonious now (that he even shot H.R.G. at all should have been his Death Warrant, resurrection by Claire's blood or not). Since about 1/3 the way through Volume 2 I have wanted Mohinder to suffer a most painful demise. And now he's paired with Maya... the two biggest, most annoying ciphers on the show together like peas in a pod. Please, someone destroy them.
