I think HRG was a hardass in the first season, we just saw his sympathetic side when it comes to Claire. But I think he'd be willing to do some bad stuff to protect her, even hurting or killing innocent people. And I kinda like that it was the company's actions that made Sylar snap and become a bad guy. But then I've always been a fan of irony.

I think Linderman didn't heal Arthur because he either disagreed with the way Arthur was doing things or he wanted the top spot himself. I really don't think Arthur is the type to let Linderman get away with healing Angela.

Overall I really enjoyed this episode, I loved how they linked the events back to scenes from the first season. It was really cool to have an extra layer of information added to what we got in the season one episode "six months ago".

Well, last night episode, I liked a lot!!
See, that's how good this characters are!!
Seriously, this went back to the roots, literally!
And having all this background info is great!
I also liked Sylar this time around, because you can see how he got pushed to the limit...
and become the Ultimate Heroes MoFo....
Great job last night...
too bad we'll return to the crappy plot of season 3 next week...

Well, I'm assuming Linderman didn't heal arthur because like everybody else, they thought he was dead.

As for the flashback episode, I think they could have taken that episode and put it into a couple of different episodes. I'm not a fan of the WHOLE episode being flashback. But it could have been broken down and put inbetween the present/past much like LOST.

The first half was a bit lack luster for me, but I loved the second half. And I think the next few episodes are going to be really interesting.

I never thought I'd see the day when Parkman would be the best part of an episode. He's about the only character on the show that hasn't suffered from personality rewrite. It's good to see him being useful to the story for a change.

Sadly, the watering down of Sylar continues. Instead of the creepy and manipulative Norman Bates of the show, he's now taking people's powers by feeling sorry for them. :monkey4

And can someone explain to me why Ali Larter is still on the show? Cut that dead weight already.

Actually sympathy is feeling sorry for someone, empathy is being able to feel what they feel. Killing people was cool but it's just like when Joker was first debuted and killed people right and left, can't keep that up or the heroes look really crappy for not taking him out.

I actually think the Tracey character is an interesting one. Of course I liked Niki's character in the first season and the only thing I disliked about her in the second was them bringing Jessica back since that facet of her personality seemed done with at the end of season 2.

I like that Parkman is becoming a power player again this season.

Yeah, I know what empathy is. At least the Joker is still the Joker. This is like the Joker turning into Batman.

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl That's the first thought I had when he did it.

I have no problem with him killing people to steal their powers, that's what contrasted him with Peter. Now their pretty much the same. I liked the difference between them, it showed how similar they are, yet different. And cutting off their heads is awesome and made Sylar a BAMF. Now he's just a little ^^^^^.

Well I can't really disagree with the points you make. It just doesn't really bother me. I guess I just don't mind villains not being all evil and having some shot at redemption or something. I just don't think they could keep having Sylar be a big bad guy by simply going around and killing people.

I liked last nights show more then others this season. I just don't love whats going on. Sylar gains powers through sharing emotions now? Silly. One thing I thought was at least well thought out, is that he gained elle's power but because he didnt study her brain he didnt immediately have it mastered.

Well,
I have mixed feelings about last night episode, I thought it was better than the previous ones this season... and even though I hate the wimpy Sylar too... since i'm re-watching season 1, there was one detail that i had completely forgotten and really makes things fall into place.
On episode 3 of S1, when Mohinder first breaks into Sylar's appartment with Eden (the chick from the company to spy on Chandra) they find a room where Sylare clearly feels strong regrets for what he's becoming...
this little detail alone, just changed my prespective of the character...

I think the upcoming episodes will be very interesting indeed...
I still have some hope in this show...

I just hope at some point that there's an all-out hero brawl. We kinda get little hints of it, but then something lame happens like they run away, or their powers get taken away, or someone goes back in time. I want to see a battle.

Good find Kuzeh, I just finished watching season 1 and forgot about that. Sylar also showed some remorse in a later episode, I'll put it in a spoiler so you can decide if you want to read it or not.
In the episode when Sylar goes to visit his mom he showed alot of remorse too and was fighting to not give in to (what we now know is) his hunger.

Other signs the show may be in trouble...

Ubisoft has canceled the video game.

The next wave of figures from Mezco were supposed to be released this month and have suspiciously been pushed to "1st or 2nd Quarter 2009".

Hmm...

Hmm...

There was a video game coming out??...
Didn't know that... it would be pretty lame IMO...

Well, those action figures were a lame idea in the first place...
same with Lost figures...

Show isn't as popular as it used to be, that's for sure,
but I don't think this reflects the show is in trouble, more like poor licensing decisions IMO

Those aren't good signs, but they may also just reflect that the show isn't as popular as it was. It'll suck if this is the last season, but I can live with it. Although there won't be anything on TV I really look forward to anymore. If they do cancel it is it likely we'll still have a spring volume 4?

Word is that Bryan Fuller (who was involved with Season 1) may be joining soon as the new creative point-man under Kring, but that might depend on whether or not his "Pushing Daisies" is dropped by ABC.

Check this out announced today:

Sources: Daisies, Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Canceled
Source: E! OnlineThu Nov 20, 2008, 5:47 pm EST Buzz up!

ABC has canceled Pushing Daisies, executive producer Bryan Fuller has confirmed to me exclusively.

"I just heard the news," star Kristin Chenoweth tells us in an exclusive interview tonight. "Obviously it's a bittersweet night." (Keep reading for much more from Bryan and Kristin.)

According to our inside sources, Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money also have been canceled. Reps for both shows have declined to comment. However, sources who work on Eli and DSM say they were informed today the shows would not continue.

So what happened? And is there any chance these characters will live on?

Bryan Fuller tells me, "[ABC president] Steve McPherson called me and said, 'We gave it the best shot we could.' "

According to Fuller, the facts are these: "It's very likely that Pushing Daisies will end after episode 13, which as you know, is a cliffhanger. But we are talking to DC Comics about doing comic books that will wrap up our storylines, and I already have a pitch for a [big-screen] movie ready to go."

ABC intends to air the remaining Daisies episodes that have been shot, either in the current Wednesday at 8 p.m. timeslot or in another spot.

"To be honest," Fuller tells me, "I'm really not feeling very boo hoo about it. I am so proud of the show. We put together 22 really good episodes, and there is a lot to be proud of. I'm sure I'll be working with a lot of these people again, and I would love to do so."

As reported by the Hollywood Reporter and E! News earlier today, the ratings for last night's "Oh, Oh, Oh, It's Magic" episode were the series' worst ever numbers in the key 18-49 demographic.

"I think the writers' strike did it," Kristin Chenoweth (Daisies' Olive Snook) tells us tonight. "I think that the ratings for all the shows are poor this year and it's not what the networks were hoping for. I'm not sure why ABC decided to axe our show. I know they don't own us, so I know that probably has something to do with it, but who knows?"

We caught up with Kristin at the premiere for her new movie Four Christmases, shortly after she was told Daisies was canceled.

"I just found out about an hour ago," she said. "Pushing Daisies will probably forever be one of my most happiest times of my career. I loved being apart of that show, such quality, and I'm very sad."

As for all the storylines that will be left hanging, Kristin says, "We don't really have a closure. It's going to leave a lot of our friends wondering." So would she do a movie? "I hope [Bryan Fuller] does it because there's nothing like his mind. I often ask him if his brains hurt because there's so many ideas inside of his head. I would love to do a movie."

You heard the woman. Bryan, Warner Brothers, let's make it happen, okay?

Also, to you fans, please know that we are very much trying to get info for you on Eli and DSM as well, but so far have not been able to dig up any info beyond the confirmation from sources who work on the show that they were told it's over. We will update you as soon as we hear more.

All three of these quality shows might have survived under different circumstances...How sorry are you to see them go? Sound off in the comments.

This could bode very well for Heroes.
