pj and fran as executive producers means they are putting up big bucks for the two films. also means they are the go to people for directing the film and post production. someone may be 'named' director however what pj wants...pj gets.

Thats basically how he managed to film all 3 LOTR movies simultaneously is by assigning different guys to direct different scenes which were being shot the same day at different locales. So I really doubt we'll see any less PJ fingerprints on this than we did with LOTR anyway.

Poor PJ better get ready for 3 more sleepless years. Did you guys see him in the LotR Special Features? He'd fall asleep at any given opportunity! It was well worthit though, with the quality of films he makes.

This is great news. The only thing I am concerned about is the "Hobbit sequel." What is that? Are they just going to make something up, or are they just going to chop the film in half like previously stated?

As long as PJ is heavily envolved, if not directing, then I'm sure it will be fine.
