Yeah, he just hates Heath Ledger
That's cuz their all EX... this figure is going to be one of the most valuable of all time.
It's going to blow us away as collectors for one, but second, it's very rare for Nickelson to release his likeness as he hates batman so it makes this release one of a kind...
Yeah, he just hates Heath Ledger
Yeah, he just hates Heath Ledger
- strange, it's what I heard... he disassociates himself from the Joker... and it was a pain in the ass the get the license...
MTV: What do you think of another actor, Heath Ledger, playing the Joker in next summer's "The Dark Knight"?
Nicholson: Let me be the way I'm not in interviews. I'm furious. I'm furious. [He laughs.] They never asked me about a sequel with the Joker. I know how to do that! Nobody ever asked me.
MTV: It was never brought up?
Nicholson: No. It's like, in any area, you can't believe the reasons things do or don't happen. Not asking me how to do the sequel is that kind of thing. Maybe it's not a mistake. Maybe it was the right thing, but to be candid, I'm furious.
MTV: I'm surprised to hear you sounding competitive about a role like that.
Nicholson: Well, the Joker comes from my childhood. That's how I got involved with it in the first place. It's a part I always thought I should play.
(What do you think of Jack's controversial Joker comments? Tell us at the MTV Movies Blog!)
MTV: Will you see the new film?
Nicholson: I'm not inclined to watch it because of what I said. But if it's a good movie, I'll catch up with it somewhere. I don't think they ever really captured Tim Burton's spirit [since he stopped being involved]. They kind of drove the franchise into the ground. Tim Burton's a genius. He had the right take on it. That's why I did the movie. I did the movie based on a single conversation with him. We both come from the cartoon world originally. We had similar ideas. Tim said [the Joker] should have a humorous dark side to him. [Burton is] one of the great moviemakers. I think the world of him. He's the most unassuming man. And he doesn't feel pressure. That's what I love about him. Once he's in there, he's smiling making the movie. That's it!
Bowie? That's a new one for me. Jack was a part of the mix that made the movie what it was...a smash hit in 1989 and a ground breaking Batman/Comic book movie.
Have to agree... even though I was familiar with other portayals (live action, animated and comic) of the Joker; Jack is usually one that I think of first. He did a great job of bringing that over-the-top performance to the character.
Ledger did a great job, but in some ways doesn't even feel like the Joker... but something a bit different and darker/more brooding.

...but it's incredibly wrong.
Its Mark Hamill for me. Even though Jack and Heath are excellent Jokers, I still think Hamill is the best Joker. Sure he only voiced him, but he nailed that part of him. And with someone like the Joker who is all over the place, I think having the right voice really defines him.
And since the Joker is all over the place, I thought Heath was just fine. The Joker can be like Jack one day, Heath the next, and Mark next week. Thats what makes his character so fun and interesting. He's constantly changing and messing with you
odered a joker. now I'll have the set
As if not ordering him was ever an option
well, I was just going to get batman & the batmobile, but since it'll be a while til the car is even remotely orderable...I got joker too

Good call on Mark Hamill; both he and Conroy really put their stamp on the characters. And also true the Joker really can span a pretty wide range depending on who is portaying him.
