Ah the Toyworld desk guy, remember when he used to be the first to get everything.

And damn the DX Ledger joker looks like a kid in joker makeup next to the Nicholson version.

I don't think he looks like a kid at all, he just looks like the Joker from TDK and IMO the better Joker. Not that I dislike Nicholson's version or anything..

I dont think the pictures do either that much justice tbh but yeah I think I agree with MONK out of the two I think I prefer the DX01. DX08 will still be figure of the year though :yess:

Hey Karnis. I am a musician and play in Frederick a few times a month. I love it there.

Where in Maryland do you live Fiend? I live in Forest Hill.

I live right on the of Curtis Bay and Pasadena. I don't see a lot of Marylanders here. Awesome to see a couple.:rock:rock

My Luke is all bought and paid for.... through AE. :monkey2

If the split shipment thing stops I won't have any issue with sticking with AE. I like the fact that they double box and I can pay whenever I want with as many installments as I'd like. They're great, I just hate waiting.

What is this I hear of paying in installments? As many as you like at that? This is something I must get in on. Tell me more.

I'm moving to HK.

Right across the street from the factory.

My luck there would be a split shipment out the factory door. :lol

:lol:rotfl:lol:rotfl:lol

I meant as to buy it in stock now. Being from Canada, Sideshow is a no go. Shipping is $30 plus UPS fees plus import taxes, etc.

Man I don't know how you guy's do it. I'm always hearing about members from other countries getting hit my all kinds of extra fees with customs, import taxes etc. This stuff is expensive enough. I fell for you guys.:(

It's too bad he has a flesh colored true type body. That would have been cool as hell if he had a stark, bone white True Type body.

I could see this figure mooning the Batman figure after he just shot/or stabbed him in a fight. His florescent orange white boxers down and all.

In that particular pic with the big PERS eyes, I dunno, to me he looks like a kid, or cartoonish next to the DX09 sculpt. Lets just say I'm looking forward to seeing what HT can do with Ledger in the DX 2.0 if it actually happens.

what's that awful figure on the left and what year was it made?

Nicholson Joker would rape the TDK version, then laugh about it.

Nah, I'm kidding. Around the time TDK came out, I thought Ledger was "the best Jerker evar" but, obviously these last couple of years I've gotten back into the '89 Batman spirit and I can totally see why people prefer the '89 version. He's got lolz, he's got menace, it's just a great character. I use to think that the Ledger version with the cut mouth was the scarier version but now I'm not so sure. That permanent plastic surgery smile from the bullet going through his mouth may be even more grotesque and sinister.

Thankfully for me I like em both about equally. Right now however, I'm in Nicholson Joker mode, so yeah, I'm going to put him ahead a little. I have enough Ledger Joker figures. Someday when TDK gets some more years under it's belt, I'll come back to it and be in "TDK Joker" mode, just like I do with all my favorite movies.

Right now, it's all about the Nicholson. Just look at those pics above. It kills em, and the DX 01 is one of my favorite figures.

:goodpost:

I feel the same. And I gotta be honest I was all about Heath's Joker....until I came here. :lol Don't get me wrong I still fell like he may be my favorite Joker but this place with the insane fanaticism kinda killed it a little bit. It was just Heath,Heath,Heath,Joker,Joker,Joker. Customs heads and $1000 dollar clothing all over the goddamn place. You can kinda see where a guy lik nam gets just a little sickened evertime someone brings up the whole "Heaths the best ever!" thing and calls it trendy. ( where has nam been anyway?) Right now I'm full on Nicholson mode and I'm loving it. A nice change of pace. I still love Heath's performance immensely but I just gotta give it a rest for a while.

Yeah that seems pretty stupid. On a figure that expensive you'd think they'd get that detail...and fix that hat :wink1:...I really do mean that about the hat.

HEy guyz i don't know if this was asked already and if it was SORRY for the repeat but did they change the sculpt on this figure?I look at the proto PICS and it looks nothing like the PICS of the final version.Did Hot Toys decide to go with a more menacing look for him?It looks good but i notice that in some angles it doesn't quite look like Nicholson as Joker.Does anyone know what happened?THANX!^_^

Yeah, I'm a bigger Nolan Bats fan than a Burton Bats fan, but DX-01 looks woefully antiquated compared to Nicholson in that pic. I also thought DX-01 was awesome when it was first released, but I've felt for awhile now that the flaws in that sculpt really outweigh the pros. I use the Bank Robber Joker head instead, which I think is significantly better. The PERS just had a long way to go at that point IMO.

It seems like Nicholson Joker was actually crazy he was a genuine lunatic. In a way thats a lot scarier. When he was dancing on the rooftop he put himself in danger and he didn't care

I didn't get 'crazy' from ledger Joker, he was very coordinated and calculating. Even if the things he was doing didn't make sense he was always organized. Like putting a bomb inside one of his own men. That was carefully planned out, he knew what he was going to do.That whole thing was about getting Lao. From the beginning inside the truck he already knew the outcome, probably before that. Probably from the start at the bank robbery.

Nicholson Joker would have never thought to do that, because he never would have planned on getting arrested, he didn't have that sort of attention span. It was all was spur of the moment. They are both scary for different reasons

But thats progress though. In another 2 - 4 years you'll be saying the same about Nicholson.

It's possible. . .but I don't think that's the case. The shift from BR Joker head to now is less significant than the shift from the first PERS sculpt to the more recent PERS sculpts. I think it's just a PERS problem. Having said that, Indy and Luke have serious likeness issues of their own IMO. . .

God... the ribbon on those hats are making me nuts... it's not like they got the hat even close to the way it looked in the film, but to have the ribbon so high on the hat makes it look even more like ____...

Bring on the custom hat thread please...

M.
