I don't see how they could've used the Marcus sculpt when it has a neck and Perseus has a ball-jointed head on a sculpted neck. It's hard to see in the teaser but the line where the head meets the neck is visible.

Same way Snake Eater transformed the BR Joker head sculpt (which has a neck) into a ball-jointed head that fit on a sculpted neck.

I removed the sculpted neck and inserted the correct joint..

Simple.

But why would they go to that trouble only to release a whole slew of pics with the proper sculpt just days later? If the teaser pic had been shown months ago, then it would make more sense.

HT did the same thing with Sarah Connor.

Original Sculpt - Pic Released 02/11

New Sculpt - Pic Released 02/20

And if you look at the official spec pics for Sarah Connor you'll notice ALL of them feature the original sculpt i.e. HT shot all those pics at the same time and after they changed the sculpt they didn't bother to update any of the pics. And when you buy the figure, if there's pics for the box art, guarantee the pics will feature the original sculpt.

You're assuming HT shot and released that Clash of the Titans teaser within the same amount of time. And I'm saying, there's no telling HOW long HT had that pic before releasing it. That teaser pic was probably put together long before the official sculpt was finished. Like I said, HT isn't exactly known for caring about mixing pics featuring different sculpts, etc. And in this case, that Marcus sculpt is passable enough to not matter.

I still think HT used the old Marcus head for that teaser.

Yep, I agree.

If they are doing the Medusa head thing, he will have to have a yelling expression IMO.

Maybe it will come with 2 heads.

I don't think the teaser used the old head sculpt. The paint apps look closer to the new sculpt. Look at the coloring on the sides of his cheekbones, his eyebrows, skin tone, sculpting of the hair line, and like TOB mentioned, it doesn't have a sculpted neck. Sure some of the things could be photoshopped, but why take the time?

It is easy to recast, modify and repaint an existing sculpt. The don't have to use a retail Marcus head..

Well, it's a moot point really as the production figure will have an original sculpt, but when I look at the teaser pic and the new pics I see the same sculpt.

While i dislike Sam, and havn't seen the movie, that figure is positively BAD ASS! Beautiful looking piece, the headsculpt is spot on imho! Could use that more squash faced footballer look like he has, but other than that, the likeness is breathtaking. Lovely work! This is what the 300 figure should have been. A perfect likeness

^ Have to echo that bud. The likeness is spot on in my opinion and it looks to be a very nice, solid figure.

I just have no interest in getting him that's all.

Man, i literally think, if i didn't have a dislike for SW, i'd have to pick this one up regardless of seeing the movie or not. Just a very, very impressive looking figure. I hope he comes out that good on the shelves

very nice but I think if Hot Toys want to sell this to me they need to give us a more interesting head or an extra head.

I think Worthington is a bland look dude at best of times but as a Perseus figure, we need more umph!

Hopefully they will give us an extra head like they did with Leonidas!

Just saw the movie - it's not my new favorite or anything but miles and miles better than the original.

anyway - He really needs the other sword both extended and not. That was important at the end of the film. I can live without a second screaming head, but he really needs the other sword.

I am starting to have interest in this figure. The likeness is totally awesome, a new head, one of the best Ht figures!! Will be a perfect company with the classic Perseus from the 1981 film
