Actually I was planning on using the acrylic sheet painted-side-down, so the unpainted, glossy side would be up. I have a piece of blue-tinted acrylic I can test out on, and if it looks good, I'll use it.

But your suggestion sounds really great too, if mine doesn't work out, I'll definitely go your way.

Make sure and give us some pics when your done. The reason I chimed in was I just got done using a similar trick on a show I was working on. Fresh in my brain.

I was thinking more something along the lines of a neon blackboard as a base. DIY with sheet of black acrylic and transparent acrylic sandwiched together and then edgelit and will draw lines with neon ink markers

Going to watch the movie tonight for the first time! Just rented it on Blu ray. If it's good, then I'm off to pre-order! It is still available at a lot of places.

Man HT really missed the boat on the Tron 1/6 figures. Had they struck when the iron was hot they could have done upwards of 8 characters and sold well: Both Flynn's, Quorra, CLU, Tron, Jarvis, Gem & Zeus.

Now I'd be surprised if the 3 would sell well

Not knowing what is happening with this line is kind of driving me nuts. The situation could either be that of the Watchmen line where they seem to have given up or its the Avatar line which is I think tied up in R and D. My guess is there are challenges with light up suits.

I have contacted Sideshow to get an update, and naturally I received no answers. I also posted on the website the question as to anticipated shipping date. Again no answers. Anyone have an inside word on the lightcycle release date?

Also still nothing from Sideshow on the 1:! disc, Rinzler PF, nor thier 1:4 lightcycle. Really piss poor planning on both companies sides.

Sideshow wouldn't know, they're just a distributor. The only news they'll get is when their shipments are starting to be transported to them.

It's too soon for Hot Toys to say when this is going to ship.

They have always stated 3rd quarter, meaning September/October. Have patience all will be revealed in due course. Personally I have so many pre-orders I am happy to wait for this one.

If you don't mind me asking....you seem rather confident in this date.....any particular reason? I have no issue with waiting, its just poor buisness on Hot Toy's and Sideshow for lack of any communication on the subject.
