The main products SS and HT worked together on were armored 12-inch Star Wars figures. The boxes had a Hot Toys logo on the boxes if I remembered right.

As far as information being released I've noticed that HT can be awfully mum about things were as Sideshow often seems very open with the fans.
All HT has ever said about Tron was the statement about putting the line on hold for scheduling issues which has been open to many interpretations. Sideshow's statements about their Tron line has suggested that lighting the items has been a bigger challenge than originally thought.

Odd that a major manufacturer would be so quiet when you have several retailers/ distributors allowing pre-ordering for this item. Whats the longest that Hot Toys has suspended a preorder item, only to release it later?

Hot Toys website is under construction. The only info I got was from Sideshow just now, that the release date has been pushed to 1st quarter 2012. BBTS still has the release date as 4th quarter 2011. So its now pushed back a year. Unreal. I emailed Hot Toys, and messaged them on Facebook........all to no avail.

Well this isn't suspended. But they for sure aren't making any new figures.

They release all the figures that they announce unless it simply isn't popular enough--Sideshow has done that, but I don't think Hot Toys has (although the Green Lantern figure is way behind, not that I'm complaining, the movie sucked)

Well......I hope this comes out. My fear is that with Hot Toys information black out when enough time has passed people will get discouraged/ need the money for other releases, and simply cancel thier pre-orders thus making the item appear unpopular. I have cancelled my order twice, and just re-ordered it again.:slap

It seems like a Rorschach figure was almost announced. There were prototype photos on the web but I want to say HT came right out and said they had put the stops on the Watchmen line.

As far as the Tron line being dead after the Light Cycle is released, I don't believe that was said with any surety. Their statement was pretty cryptic. I'm not saying they will for sure release anything else but I do know HT has been known with some lines to have a great deal of time pass between releases. One example is Predators.

Some say Tron is dead at HT but others have theorized that the scheduling issues HT has talked about was that they didn't want to release any product at the same time Sideshow did and then Sideshow took longer to release their stuff than was expected. Sideshow claimed this summer they had more items they were committed to release.

As far as getting information from HT, I don't think an information black out means much. They aren't really very good at answering fans questions and they haven't opened a forum for it. Their Facebook page seems to be strictly for product announcement and their is little actual interaction between fans and HT on it.

I will go with your statements, although I am not thrilled that this piece has been pushed back time and again. :gah:

I'm really hating Hot Toys for not giving any information unless its license announcements, figure announcement or shows.

How hard is it to say, "this is the reason, sorry for the delay, we appreciate your business"

Not just for this but everything, all of the other delays, rubber or QC problems

The Rorshach figure was never announced and there were never pictures, I think IrishJedi who has some job involved with films had said they were working on several other figures (including Rorshach) but nothing was ever heard beyond that.

Then you gotta hate all companies because none of them give that kind of information.

SSC used to give a good amount of info about what products are being developed and answers when people say 'how about this license'

Not so much anymore :(

HT doesnt have to reply to every question posed to them, but an explaination as to why a product that people hqve ordered has been delayed would stop some of those customers cancelling to get something else.

A re-assurance of the steps taken to fix the rubber problems would encourage people to buy rubber figures without hesitation over concerns of it lasting. To ignore those issue and continually release rubber figures with problems is bad business.

i'm not buying any rubber costumed figures untill they state they've done something to fix the problems in future figures, and i'm sure i'm not the only one on that front.

Exactly my point. Continual cancelations on any product can be seen by a major company as "unpopular."

I'm not happy about the delay, but I'm hopeful that they care enough about the product to make it the best they can and that is the reason for the delay. I do think it will be interested to see what the reaction is once people have it in hand.

One thing I have learned about HT is you can't read too much into something taking a long time to come out. There have been some products that have been announced that took so long for pictures to be released that many gave up it was even coming. People had doubts about the Sucker Punch figures seeing release because of the lack of success of the film. Avatar was another license people ceased believing would see any product released. Its just really hard to read into anything with them.

I'm a bit bothered by the delay...
but also it's a bit of a relief...
with Indy, Sparrow, Supes and Cap coming in the next few weeks, I need some time to gather funds for Sam and bike!!

Well to makes things interesting if this is really supposed to come out in March, According to Hot Toys Japan, then we can expect to come out at the same time as Batman 89 and Joker.

Hot toys release schedule is a so messed up. The pushed back 3 figures, 2 sucker punch figures and Jake Avatar, from December 2011 to May of 2012 and even Predator Nolan is also pushed back to May so how is this gonna fly.

It seems February is wide open.

I'm fine with the delay. Need time to save my cash.

I agree, I'm okay with the delay. It will give me a chance to space out purchases, and with any luck HT will work out the kinks with this line and we will see more figures in the future. Even though I'd like some stand alone characters such as Clu and Rinzler, I'd be happy with the two on their light cycles as well. Pretty much anything HT does pertaining to Tron and or Tron Legacy I'm on board no matter how long the wait.

I personally am a bit impatient when it comes to things I really want.

O, don't get me wrong, I get impatient, especially for anything Tron because quality releases for the brand are few and far between, but I don't mind waiting a bit longer. Now, if summer 2012 rolls around and he's not on my shelf then I'll be a bit creased.
