To me, the whole Hong Kong thing is iffy. I've done business with HK sellers before, but this is a preorder that he is claiming to be getting 6 of. So it's like all of these fishy things coming together makes me uneasy. But, we still haven't heard of anyone selling these from the Tokyo Toy Show (which is next week)!
Over the next couple months, things will probably pick up. This is, hopefully, just the beginning.

Oh yeah..! We'll certainly see how this all plays out. In either case I'm trying my best to snag one as cheap as possible right now. My personal limit was twice retail, so hopefully they'll come down to what the Asian prices are right now for everyone.

It is gone now. I was tempted, really tempted, to buy the $350 one. This guy has sold a ton of Hot Toys stuff, I don't know how he plans on getting that many of them. I still have a feeling that the prices on this will drop ALOT over the next four weeks or so.

Well, I'm hopeful on this one, but again you never really know until it's all said and done. The seller seems to have a decent track record with most of his complaints being in regards to shipping package. He also seems to have mostly Hot Toys related items sold in the past, so perhaps he has a connection with the company. He is an Asian seller afterall... I'll definitely let the board know how this goes. Other than this, I'm hoping my wait list reserve comes through or a good friend will sell me his as a very very last resort. So much trouble for this figure and it's not even due out for a few more weeks...

I bought a "artist proof" of a DC character in the past from Hong Kong for $75 on the winning bid. And the seller had sold one after another. When the product arrive, it definitely looked like a recast. But then a forum member told me it's a sign it's not an AP for sure when it's normally going for double that price. So thank god i think pay any higher, 'cuz regardless i'm getting that same "fake" statue.

I'm not trying to diminish on your outcome Emarae, just want to share my experience with everyone. Good luck & leave us feedbacks.

That is pretty racist. The Box will not be in Chinese. I get alot of stuff from Toy Hunters in HK and the only difference is the back of the Box where it usually give you the Hot Toys Company info also has the address in Chinese and Japanese. That's it.

I have a feeling if the Guardian Predator is really limited to only 500 then chances are slim that the seller would pick up all 6 at Toy Fair.

People should calm down and forget the hype for a minute when considering paying $700 for a figure not yet released, IMO. But, to each their own.

Wow! That's really good to know and helps me from getting too paranoid for the next few weeks. I know it's iffy when it comes to presale items on ebay, and since it's an overseas deal, it makes it even more iffy, but again, I'm just hopeful this seller will come through. I did a quick look at his past sales and it does look like he has some kind of Hot Toys connection, so I truly hope it all works out. I've dealt with ebay for a long time now, so if it were to all go sour I know how to reclaim my money from Paypal, etc.
Like a lot of here, I missed out on both presales after giving it my best. A good friend of mine got one and he was cool enough to sell it too me at about double the price which I was willing to pay, but I didn't want to go that route if I didn't have too as I know he wants it bad too. He just didn't want me to spend too much more on it and he knew I was an even crazier fan than him. I could totally relate to EldarPredator's YouTube video..! Cracked me up by the way!
Anyhow, I hope once all is said and done with the shows all wrapping up and the figures actually getting released here and there, we'll see the price cool down to around $300 before shooting up again in a year. So I think there's still plenty to snag up at better the current ebay prices with a little more patience.

To bad my power went out last night and I didnt get to see the 300-350 sales on ebay I would have definitly gotten one. Oh and if the seller is a fake, ebay or paypal will take care of that unless on their auction its stated they may or may not got one.

The box design really. I'm guessing they're trying to save money by making the Predator boxes smaller. Like the P1 box. Saves us the trouble of putting them together.
