seems like it's easier to get these than it is to keep them. i bet there are more up on ebay than in collections now.

yeah, he's pretty awesome. And you got a pretty good price for him.

He was my first Predator. Although I bought it so expensive (because I was new at the line), I won't regret it. He was my first after all :)

He's my first pred too. I really like his color scheme.

It sure seems like it. I wonder how many were made. I heard that there were like 500 made per toy convention and there were like 3 or 4 toy conventions going on for 2010.

this was my first predator fig too.. its a good purchase guys considering the new bodies HT put out with the super-preds i think this guy may be the last of his kind so he's a must buy for predator fans

Hi All

I need some feedback and I don't know where else I can post this (I can't post yet on the Sales forum).

I purchased a Guardian Predator from someone here on the boards for $350 and I received it this week and was disappointed to find that it was sent only in the snug brown mailer. Due to having no padding, the outer box corners were dented and thus, the packaging now has 2 medium sized dents in it.

I have bought over 14 Hot Toys figures from people here and on ebay and this is the first time I was sent an item with no padding. I was somewhat shocked to see this, especially since this item was somewhat expensive and a limited edition.

I PM'd the seller and he said that this is how it was shipped by sideshow so he felt it was OK to ship it this way to me. He also said that I should have brought up the extra packaging before he sent it. I never thought of bringing up the packaging as I never thought anyone would ship out a limited item like this without some kind of protection from normal wear and tear during shipping.

Anyway, I was wondering what your thoughts are on this...do I have a right to be upset?

Thanks!

lol @ Gladiator Predator...just sounds awesome.

But yah to address you question...actually I always receive HT figures just in the snug brown mailer...from retailers like AlterEgo, and from some ebay sellers...not to sure what is up with that, but seems like its not that uncommon. Most people know better and put the brown shipper into another bigger box with padding...not sure if theres much you can do.

That must be a one of a kind :horror

Was Gladiator in Predator 2?

All seriousness mine was shipped directly Sideshow and it should come in a Hot Toys shipper besides the art box. Yea I'd be upset if it were anything else thinner.

LOL...I just noticed that mistake I made...thanks for catching it (I edited my post)...I must have Russell Crowe on the brain:)

Thanks for the input...I have never ordered from those places so this is the first time I received it in just the mailer.

Yes, all my experiences have been with extra padding (brown mailer inside a box with padding)..I guess I will have to live with the dents. But from now on, I will make sure to let the seller know to ship with an outside box around the mailer...dents are very easy to receive otherwise.

Well it's ok to be upset at the situation, but unfortunately you can't blame anyone because there is no real fault here. It's a live and learn situation...next time you make a purchase make sure that it is packed in such a way that all materials are kept safe from any transporting wear n' tear...but honestly a couple of dings and dents dont really affect the value of a Hot Toys figure - esp since it is the figure that is most important and the real value of this thing is being able to enjoy it sdisplayed in your house or office.

Yeah, I was worried about the dents mainly because this was a limited edition and if I ever re-sell it, I was worried the value would drop.

Thanks for the input!

ryt -- look at Elder P2 -- even if the box isn't included it commands at least $500 on ebay -- ON AVERAGE...

I wouldn't worry about that, that's ultra ____ if anyone wants to complain on the cost of a figure because the box has wear on it.

and if that's the case, NO SELL or figure for them.

meh. i keep all my boxes stacked away in storage in case i gotta move again. i wouldn't even notice if a stupid box had dented corners. because i don't collect boxes, i collect figures.

oh, and i still have my Guardian!

Including Elder and Special Bus, I count 10.

i hope hot toys complete this series.

Hot Toys boxes are very important, they are art and add to the magic of the figure. But a little dent or scuff isn't worth crying over.

Some are nice (Godfather), some are not (T-1000 / T-800), but I don't have room for my figures nevertheless all the boxes. I have kept some pred boxes and a few others in case I resell them but just cannot justify keeping most. Who the hell has room for that?
