First off there is nothing to calm down. Folks are simply chatting it up. Its appreciated you taking the pictures and showing us that it looks fine but the board wasn't going to implode. We talk about errors and if they'll get fixed as much as how awesome stuff is.

What he said...

Hmmm, I may be the only one not completely satisfied with this 'fix' HT came up with.

Think about the mechanics at work:
The holes on the chest were designed to accept pegs that are suppose to be pushed directly into them.
Now we will be pushing pegs into them at an angle.

We are dealing with plastic pieces, therefore, there is a very good possibility that either the pegs themselves can bend out of shape or the holes on the chest may enlarge if the BD chest piece stays on the figure for a long period of time.

If the holes on the chest enlarge, what will fitment be like for the normal [undamaged] chest piece? Probably somewhat loose.

Now, it was mentioned that the 'fixed' BD chest piece needs to be pushed in further to sit flush.
That means, as we are pushing the chest piece in place we will meet resistance. Then we must push past this resistance for the chest piece to sit flush. So, once in place this piece is wanting to pop back out.

I'm just not sure how long this 'fix' will last on our figures, is all I'm saying.

I completely agree. Well know more once they are in hand though.

Really? When I mentioned that the pegs were in the same position as before only this time they are bending upwards, there are already people screaming that the problem is not fixed and HT didn't actually do anything.

Then there's the guy whose "fixed" MKVI BD chest which did not sit flush because of an error in installation. And then people start worrying that the problem is still there.

I have been on this board long enough to know that a lack or correct information will quickly lead to full blown misunderstanding (the DX04 fiasco...)

What really irks me is that the moment I got my hands of the MK VI the first thing I did was to check the fitting of the MK VI and quickly posted my findings here so people can have some peace of mind on their MK VI orders.

What I got instead was being shot down because there is no visual proof.

I really love this place but have been posting less and less because of attitude like these.

Actually, it's the other way around. The clean chest piece comes off really easily. Way to easily in fact. I was posing the figure and it will just fall out from the lightest of touch.

Repeated removal will make it even looser in the long run. It's the BD chest piece that actually fits snugly and actually need a little bit of force to remove.

I think we're all just a bit jaded after fiascoes like the DX02 leakage etc. and not easily convinced when HT claim to have solved such problems. However, since we don't have these in hand yet, it would seem foolish to be panicking! I can't wait to get mine

Yes, really. I guess you haven't been here long enough to grasp the ebe and flow of how things go around here. Everything you've seen as far as how people talk about things is the norm. Never seen the board implode because of it.

HT just simply having them bend upwards sounds like a minimal fix at best. However, I can't expect them to redo it from scratch either because they would have to shelve the figure for months.

Then there's the guy whose "fixed" MKVI BD chest which did not sit flush because of an error in installation. And then people start worrying that the problem is still there.

Well, if it looks like the issue before then I would expect people to say it doesn't appear fixed. Expecting them to say otherwise is a bit naive.

I have been on this board long enough to know that a lack or correct information will quickly lead to full blown misunderstanding (the DX04 fiasco...)

Well, as I said I question that if you've been paying attention then because you made it sure sound like the whole board was about to come down on itself.

What really irks me is that the moment I got my hands of the MK VI the first thing I did was to check the fitting of the MK VI and quickly posted my findings here so people can have some peace of mind on their MK VI orders.

Thats very nice of you.

What I got instead was being shot down because there is no visual proof.

People want to see proof. Nothing wrong with saying they want to see pictures of how things are supposed to be better now. Thats not a shot at you they want to see for themselves.

I really love this place but have been posting less and less because of attitude like these.

Pounding your chest because you distribute HT figures and telling folks to calm down so the board doesn't implode doesn't make folks want to be real nice in your direction either.

Honestly, when I get mine next week I probably won't do anything with it until I get my Ex. That way I'm only taking each apart just once.

Interesting...

Perhaps HT also enlarged the holes on the chest, thereby causing the normal chest piece to fit loosely now when it was fitting snugly before the fix.

And for what it's worth I certainly appreciate your feedback and not trying to discredit you.

At the moment I'm just questioning the way Hot Toys addressed the BD chest piece issue.

Thats the thing that would worry me now is that since they really could only half fix it that it created another problem. As you said interesting indeed.

Funny, I actually never brought up that I work with the local HT distributor initially. I just mentioned that the latest shipment of HT Mark VI we got being fixed.

Someone else pointed out that I work with the HT distributor. Never my intention to going around telling people that. But then again, I guess if I don't bring that up eventually, they will be assuming that I am talking out of my arse.

Let's not use the word implode. Not so sure why you are so touchy with the word implode. In the DX04 fiasco, we have pages and pages of useless bickering and misinformation before the reveal and even after the reveal. It really turns me off this board for a while.

I still remember a few years back when I broke the news of HT Two Face impending release and a bunch of people jumped me. Some people just don't get it. Being a HT distributor means you are privy to a lot of inside information and not all of them are meant for public yet. I try to keep a low profile because I don't want to get into trouble for revealing stuff too soon.

The worst was when I first broke the news here that we got SS Obi Wan Kenobi. I thought everyone will be happy to see some in hand pics earlier than expected but no, because we got it months before the States, we got accused of it being a fake and all and it got to a point where Sideshow actually ordered us to not sell the item oversea. Keep it in our country they say. I mean, SS authorized the release of the item to us. Who we sell it to is fair game.

But because of the backlash here, SS have to make you guys happy and we had no choice put to sell it local only. You cannot imagine the amount of flack I got for because of that.

We are now heading in that direction again and sad to say I have in part contributed to it. This is even worse than the DX Joker thread.

Honestly, its not something anyone is gonna get to crazy over either way expect when it comes across a certain. Way all that was asked for was pictures of how you know its fixed. Plain and simple

I wasn't the first to use it. You were with a post so I was just kind of poking fun that you felt you had to save the board from having implode. I'm just like I said poking fun at your poor word choice. :lol

People are gonna discuss an sometimes _____ at each other. It happens and is a part of this board.

Man, people aren't going to believe you just because you say its so. I guess once you have a track record that says you're the man to come to with insider info folks will, but you can't be pissed when people call BS because they don't know you give away info that you're not supposed to at times.

Well, again there tends to be a lot of fake products coming out of that area of the world and people are not gonna just believe you because you post it.

But because of the backlash here, SS have to make you guys happy and we had no choice put to sell it local only. You cannot imagine the amount of flack I got for because of that.

Like I said the amount of fake product coming out of that area of the world . People don't want to get ripped off and they don't know you thats just life.

We are now heading in that direction again and sad to say I have in part contributed to it. This is even worse than the DX Joker thread.

What direction? No offense man but you gotta toughen up a bit.

I kinds know how that guy feels, I remember being attacked about leaking the crimson cobra commander and getting flamed for it, then a lovely email from sideshow, but regardless I was proven right in the end and all the people who flamed me shut right up, I love this board it has everthing here, yeah it can get heated from time to time but were all in it together right? there are some exceptions as always buy the majority of members are really good guys and girls

Theres just no point in talking to this guy is there, no matter how much sense you make Josh...

Josh, it's all calm and cool. Let's leave it at that. :1-1:

Nick, you have been a jerk and is still being a jerk. In all honesty, it really got to this because of your tone of voice. I am not going to go there again. Have fun with all your MK VIs.

Just want the guy to know there was nothing personal and that these are how things are at times. People want to see picture proof as its easier to believe what one sees over just what someone says. Especially when it comes to "insider" info.

I'm sure some of that was because people got upset that CCC was being made. :lol The thing is people just need more proof than just someones word especially if its something that doesn't post often. Once folks see they actually have good info more than once really thigns are fine. You're right though it can get heated but thats just life. I agree there are more good members here than bad.

They should have gone with magnets for the chest attachment...saying that, we wouldn't have had the awesome experience of yet another Hot Toys thread descend into a nerd b itch fest:rotfl:

My tone? Nothing I said was about you at all. I said until we see proof its been fixed I'll remain skeptical. That wasnt even directed at you but the guy who posted the pictures. How is that unreasonable? You're the one that got their panties in a bunch when I commented on how HT fixed it and you acted like you fixed it yourself and I attacked you personally...

Assuming people's tone on a message board can cause unneeded trouble...

Magnets wouldn't fix the problem as they also need to be properly aligned to work right. I guess they'd give you a bit more wiggle room though.

I posted a picture of a discount card we were sent from sideshow, it had the crimson comander, the 1:2 scale iron man and a couple other things, lol the cards were made specifically for us, so it was pretty easy for sideshow to find out where they came from haha, I use to post quite a few things that would be "insider" so to speak but that came to a grinding halt, I truly believe this is the best board for hottoys, which is why I'm here mostly, and getting info is a crucial part pf it as hottoys feels the need to never put out starmenta regarding the status of any of there products, which can be annoying, so I personally appreciate that guy trying to reassure is that evetthing is a ok
