GET TO DA CHOPPA!!

The Turboman is on the house!!! :lol

LOL I forgot about that movie.

ITS TURBO TIME!

No but seriously.. I need to invest in a better camera and pose him up properly.

Any suggestions on the right arm being tight?

Damn dude those are some nice clean shots. Good work!

^^
One of two things:

ONE Hot Toys is at their pinnacle of IM mastery,

TWO Spanbauer, you are a fine photographer, great pictures.
Love these pics man! No wonder this thing is hard to find :clap
Awesome shots Span.
Aside from BD parts w/c I always mention, the details on the chest reactor is just brilliantly made..just like in the movie.:clap

Crisp shots Spanbauer! Keep it up! :wink1:
awesome pics Spanbauer
Thanks everybody, I'm happy to share them. I'm going to take some more soon as I wasn't able to get good photos of a flying pose, any good shots of the diorama base, or a few of his other gizmos.

Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, but it seems like the Mark III (Battle-Damaged) was more articulated than this guy, especially in the neck and at the hips. The Mark VI's head only pivots where the neck connects to torso, not where the neck connects to the head, which leaves him with that big adam's apple look. And at the hips, the gold armor runs against the "diaper", limiting how far his legs can bend. I was surprised by that, since Hot Toys had already extended the legs to allow for more articulation (the red space between the gold plates and the hips doesn't exist in the movie). Of course, the Mark VI looks way better than the Mark III (battle-damaged) proportionally, so I think it's a fair trade-off.

Here's a question for those who already have their Mark VI's on hand.

How far can the open palm hands (non articulated ones) be moved to pose the Mark VI shooting his repulsors? From recent pictures it would seem that the hand armor is blocking it from being pushed up all the way and the only way to pose the palm 45-75 degrees upward is by adjusting the hand armor to be underneath his wrists (which looks very odd and not movie accurate)?

Its not the armor but the joint on the hands. Only way to do it is cut a notch out of the back of the hand.

Cut a notch? I don't really understand that part. What do you mean?

Based on recent pictures versus earlier pictures (about 2 weeks ago), I saw that some of those really raised palms had the wrist armor moved underneath them so it wouldn't block them, whereas if you left the armor up top it just let the palms go as far as the armor would allow - which is not much.

There was only one person who posted images like that, and he had said that he shaved out the hands a little to allow for that.

Here, I did the work for you and backtracked through the thread to find this:

Or a mimic of the cover of The Thanos Quest Book One ^^^

Although it's a very common pose. Beautiful, though.

Shaved. Hands and a second helmet. Stock configuration is just too restricting. Especially since I now have doubles of every hand.

Make it work.

Also, I know for a fact that in my images of both the MK IV and the VI, I had maxed out the range of motion for the spread out hands (which have a greater range of motion that the articulated hands).

The armor does not get in the way. This is as far as they go. (Looking at the right hands only)

Ahhh yeah I missed the part where he said he ACTUALLY shaved it since I only saw the picture of a razor plus some bits.

Thanks Jedah!

Don't exactly get which part of the hands he shaved though because it seems that for those first 2 pics it's exactly what I feared which means that you'll need to move the wrist armor down eitherway to be able to pose the hands that high

Yes based on your first picture from your own collection, it's basically not as far as I would hope for it to be like maybe 60-75 degrees. That wrist armor really looks like it's restricting it because I kept replaying the last scene where he and war machine were taking down those drones and his palm raised to almost 90 degrees which looks nice to pose with I thought. Plus you slightly had to bend his right elbow to make it seem as if his palm was slightly more raised when I was thinking of a more stretched out arm pose.

Your second flying pose makes it look really good though but that's only from the front and the camera angle from which it was taken.

You can even kinda tell in Rubio's first image, but the right elbows are not bent in. That's as far straight as they go. Disappointing, I know.
As awesomely detailed these figures are this time around (I still don't like the IM 1 figures. They look more like toys than the IM 2 figures), I wish they had a bit better articulation. Sacrifices must be made, but a plethora of awesome poses can still be had.

Wow now that's just another new piece of disappointing information indeed xD I really thought they could be stretched further to make them straight out instead of slightly bent.

You're right I guess. Can't get the best of everything in this world :( Gotta make the best of it somehow...

You can get the hand back pretty far with no modifcation what so ever just by moving the wrist armor out of the way. It's really the wrist armor that's the problem which sucks because it's designed to have a joint there but because of the way HT constructed it that joint is pretty useless.

True but like I said shifting the wrist armor downwards just makes it look super weird I can't wipe that feeling off somehow xD I like to pose it that way in a movie accurate feeling with the wrist armor upward and doesn't limit the hands from going far back which isn't possible I guess.
