Yes, me too. This morning the email was there waiting for me, like a bad smell in a small room.
This is really my main (and only truly justifiable) complaint about POing these fine figures. Your budget goes to crap when things get changed out of your control. Some might say that it is beyond SSC's control too and that's true to a certain extent...but the retail outlet would know a damned sight more about it than the buyer/customer.

I heard someone mention somewhere recently that because of where Hot Toys is located, they shut down completely for about a month during Chinese New Year which is in January....any truth to that??
I'm not sure, because the Sideshow website says January.

I agree. this isn't a small company anymore. Of course delays happen, but its almost definite with every figure, it doesn't help matters that prices have skyrocketed. I've learned to be patient with them but this always screws up my dudget plans. This also causes me to cancel orders. When a bunch of stuff gets pushed onto one credit card bill i just can't afford it.

Chinese new year changes every year but is on February 10th in '13.
And China does not shut anything down ever for any reason. They don't even stop working for sleep. China is a communist sweat shop hell hole that is content to work it's people to suicide. But they make a damn fine collectable.
There are places in Europe that shut down for a month at a time, but as far as I know it's not related to any particular holiday.

Round about the time every year when the vodka factories start ramping up production for the holidays...
you could just take that amount out this month and put it aside (Put it in savings account or something) so when she is available you would have basically already paid for it.
