Do you want to live in a world without makeup? I point you to Cold War-era USSR. Perhaps men would find a world full of the equivalent of babushka-wearing grannies one they would like to live in, but I doubt it.

LOL. Seriously, lol. What next, cries to ban women shaving their legs and underarms.... and other areas as well? After all, isnt shaving a lie? What about men? Is shaving beards off a "lie"? is bathing a lie? After all, that funk is natural, so lets not lie to ourselves....!!! :yess:

I find the assertation that the wearing of makeup "allows sexual predators to prey on" women both lol-tastic and extremely offensive. Women are so weak-minded that they just OOPS! up and allow sexual predation because those silly girls have on makeup?!!!!! truly: WHUT

Makeup causes sexual predation? Ok. What about the thousands - nay, millions - of little boys preyed upon by sexual predators every year? Were those little boys - or even little girls - wearing makeup? I doubt it, seriously. Makeup has ZILCH to do with sexual perversion, thank you.

Please refrain from blaming the victim when discussing sexual predators, TYVM. Because the next logical step from there is: BURKAS AND VEILS ARE MANDATORY. If I wanted to live in a society like that I would hie it over to Iran ASAP.

Blaming the victim is even more wrong. Women wearing makeup beautify the world. Is beauty wrong? Is wanting to look better somehow wrong? Ok then. I'm all kinds of "wrong."

p.s. ScarJo and Dunst both could use MORE makeup.

Excuse the rant, this just ticked me off. *gets off soapbox*

Those are all fine points. Just want to know your perspective and you've given me exactly that. No need to get all angsty about it. :peace

But I think I need to explain myself a bit more, because you're taking my points a bit out of context. See, I'm not blaming the victim because I think we are all victims of these norms we create and impose upon ourselves. I'm all for individual personalities and appearance as I said earlier. So your argument about women wearing babushka is totally counter to mine.

About the sex predator thing, I've observed that women, not all of them, tend to change their behavior once they have make up on. Younger women tend to change the way they dress as well. Here's a better point, have you ever seen a woman wearing a sexy dress without makeup on her face? Also, by makeup I mean over the top makeup, I should be more specific, so I'm not talking about your usual mascara and lippy. And I live in Asia where women change their appearance drastically. To the point where they change the size of their eyes, lips, hair color. That's the lie. Same case with glasses wearer here in my country, they'll try and change their appearance out of fear that someone might come along and start calling them nerds or geeks. Hope you can see where I'm coming from.

So, no, beauty is not wrong. Would you makeup a flower to make it more beautiful? Would you paint a butterfly's wings to make them more colorful? No need, right? But all in all, I suppose you've explained your view quite coherently (better than me),

FYI, women outside of Middle East wear burkas and veils because 1) it's cultural, 2) a lie that those garments are religiously mandated, 3) society's expectation, and the same goes to men in terms of garment and facial hair. I should know, I live in a country with the highest number of Moslem in the world.

Hope I've addressed any misunderstandings.

Now let's discuss BW again :panic:

I'll put it this way, I like how ScarJo looks better than she acts but in the end it's not a dealbreaker. I know she went into overdrive to secure this role in IM2 so at least there's some fire there.

Avengers. Long hair gets in the way and makes it easier for your enemy to grab and pull in fisticuffs.

She is quite lovely with either, but I suppose shorter is more realistic in close-quarters fighting.

What I heard is that in close combat, if you have hair longer than about 1" your enemy grabs you by it and game over; once opponent controls your head, they control you pretty much. Tying it out of the way does not help much either.

But this is a fantasy world, where we accept flying people etc. so suspension of disbelief for everyone.

According to Sideshow, we're getting Black Widow, Thor, Loki, Hulk, and the Mark VII in March. If it remains, it's gonna be an expensive month for you addicts.

You can throw Joker 2.0 and Catwoman in there as well...No way they all get released in March, but still.....

Next question - did you like her hair better in The Avengers or IM2?

Visually, I liked her longer hair.

Agreed. Makes sense.

You got that right! :slap

This schedule changing is getting tiresome... HT really needs to get their crap together.

I'm almost over this whole avengers excitement... and their smoking some serious drugs to expect (most) people to be able to drop all this money in a single month.

I feel like once I get a figure now I just put it on display and it's right back to waiting on the next... unfortunately, i'm starting to not even enjoy the whole darn hobby.
