Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

:lol thats my reaction when i saw the sideshow newsletter on batpod today, it didn't feel right for me to know they would release batpod so early especially when avengers still hot right now, i know some of other ppl wanted other fig to be release other than the avengers, but hey why stop the momentum (still deciding on to PO batpod though :monkey3)

Momentum is tricky. If they ride the momentum and announce all their figures in a short window, they can cause market fatigue, and leaves too long a window between new announcements and actual releases, giving people time to jump ship.

Alternatively, they can try to stretch it out as long as possible, which would have figures being announced well after the film is out of theaters, and other films are competing for attention.

They have (by my count) three figures to go, all of which have gotten some sort of sneak peak already. Spider-Man will be the next film to threaten taking the Avenger's oxygen, but that only looks to be one figure. TDKR is the big one, based both on past box office, past figure sales, and potential new figures. By the time that rolls out, we'll (probably) have Hawkeye and Fury in hand. So I'm thinking they'd want the last reveal (Hulk?) to come in early-mid July, as the first figures start to hit and to leave the stage before Batman crashes the party.

Im gutted we havent seen this yet but hope its worth the wait

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

Well I wanted to see the full reveal, I hope we can get it soon!

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

I'm going to be elated if ASM is a big success this summer. If anyone will benefit from the Avengers it would be ASM.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

OK, I know we haven't seen the movie yet (and I am looking forward to it and rooting for it to not just not-suck, but excell), but at most I see 2 figures, and given that we never got Green Goblin, Doc Ock, or a real Sandman, I just find a Lizard to be unlikely. Are there other figures that I'm missing?

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

Not essentials, but a Proto Spider-Man/Peter Parker would be cool. Lizard is Essential though, HT haven't done any non-human comic villians yet

Yeah, that would definitely be cool. I think it's an interesting look. Of course so far it looks like everyone else has passed on making a figure like that..

True, they haven't, but I take Iron Monger, Hulk, and Jake Sully as a good sign that they are expanding what they do in terms of villains and non-human characters. Who knows..

Where's Black Widow, I really wish she'd cut the stealth act. :impatient:

Predators and aliens (Movies & Comics).... but specically the new predator body can be easily adapted (as a base) for the lizard's body.

Other villians... (non related to comics) Mars Attacks' Aliens...

I know Aliens and Preds have been in comics (hell, I bought their first appearances), but they originated in films, and 99% of the public thinks of them a movie... uh... characters, not as comic book characters.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

^HT is capable of producing non-human movie villians (regardless of their origin)....it all depends on how popular HT deems the public's reception will be.

The other comic book originated (villian) character with a high probability of a figure would be the Chitauri
