Not sure why they didn't go for Barney Ross Forearms they look much better than Bane's (more bulky, though they should probably make them a little less veiny)

I don't know maybe I am seeing things and they are the same, there is just something that is bothering me that I can't quite put my finger on?

WOW Barney's body looks so much better. The detail makes this very toyish looking

God... why do so many think every figure will have a DX version?? It's like they have never looked at the DX line up...

No way this is ever going to get a DX treatment or even a 2.0, they may release another version but it wont be anything special either... bottomline, HT gives you folks a darn good version of lame looking character design and people still complain when technically the fault lies with the source material.

Also the leather gauntlet is not going to fit around the closed fist
The more and more I look at this the preview it feels rushed.

It does indeed look rushed, plus also the fact that Nolan and co like to keep their films very secret and probably didn't give away a whole lot of how Bane was going to look, as in the details. Hot Toys probably didn't get a good look at the character until very late in the production process and so they probably just said ____ it and overlooked the inconsistencies.

I like this hobby I really do, but if I'm paying 200 for something like this I demand it to be of the highest quality, being critical is fine I encourage it. Aren't we the ones that have to set the standard? We are the consumers.

$190

Will you buy this?

It's missing weathered colors. I'm pretty sure some enthusiasts will paint up his vest to look more accurate in hand. The base color is actually pretty close to the vest, it just doesn't have the extra weathering. I'm just disappointed in some of the details. It's still a respectable release. It's just limited by the 1/6 scale. Hopefully in 1/4 format we can see way more accuracy and not just a BLOWN UP 1/6 version like how Gundam scales have two grades in 1/60 and 1/100.

This has to go well under US$180 on pre-order for the lack of accessories. :slap

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Well at least you could´ve taken Twik´s perfect rendition of his clothes and not this.

:lol

Okay, so I just saw this figure. I am not one to sit and _____ about HT little imperfections... and maybe it is because of the fact that I so closely studied the hell out of Bane's clothes when I made mine... but...

HT totally failed on this. The proportions are TOTALLY wrong. Color is way off, and it just looks cheap!

The HT John Conner pants are more accurate to Bane than these Bane pants that HT has made.

The headsculpt looks great, the body is OK (maybe a bit skinny!?).

Overall, I think all things considered... my custom holds it's weight when compared to HT.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

i kinda agree, its sort of a boring villain look and hot toys looks like they just threw it together...

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

It does seem a bit rushed. Looks like they wanted to get the preorder out for the release.

Makes me think there may be significant updates to this figure between now and official release. I'd bet quite a bit that they add the gauntlet/wristguard. They may add some accessories, and they'll do some tweaks and updates to the overall thing as information becomes available.

My guess is that they don't want to do another release like the original TDK Joker. This isn't quite as far off as that was. A few relatively minor adjustments and additions and it'd be a lot better.

This just feels like a v1, you know there are two or three more coming with more. :lol

:goodpost::clap Exactly, I remember picking up v1 Joker, looked at it and asked my self: "Is this supposed to look like Heath?" The whole figure looked dull, even though it came with a few accessories. There will be no doubt in my mind that another MMS will follow (perhaps with a different outfit), with a DX to follow shortly.

I dunno. with so many different Bats figures on the cards, I can't see them doing any more versions of minoe characters.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Regardless you can clearly see no one in the thread trusts HT anymore. :lol

Fact is with their track record it's just more likely this was done ____ on purpose so they'd have room to improve on a dx. No one's fault but HT.

The primary villain in the trilogy finale ain't a minor character.

:lecture:goodpost:

Frankly I think while they may have plans to do an upgraded version, those plans risked being scuppered by how bad this version is.

Regardless of how terrible the v1 Joker was, it still sold out.

I fear this may be TDK Two Face scenario - people will not buy it because of the issues and the belief that there will be a better version. In doing so HT will think ok this is not a character worth doing a 'proper' release for, so we'll just leave it.

Lose/Lose for everyone

That's why its all the more important to get them to fix THIS one before production.

Agree.. They are so banking on us liking Bane as the Nolanverse character, that we will buy this v1 crap, then a release of another version (a la Bank Robber), then a DX.

I wonder if HT even has a Market Research team. I sincerely think their products will generate more revenue for them if they take into consideration collector feedback. I'm sure they are aware at least of this forum's existence if they want to mine for info. :slap

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

There have been and will be more Batman releases, Joker has had a few issues - but the Bane character as is, is somewhat bland visually. There's not much to do with him.
Scarecrow was given a one off release, without even a Doctor Crane head - I expected a rerelease, and nothing. I guess for the movie, Bane isn't so much a minor character, but in the scope of these figures, he isn't an overly exciting character (IMO).

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Why should I wait when we can show HT what's wrong with it so they can fix it before production - which is at least 6 months away :dunno:dunno:dunno

If they do fix something, it will be very minor or something really big. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Didn't replicate tom Hardy's crazy eyes...kinda dissatisfied
