Frankly I think while they may have plans to do an upgraded version, those plans risked being scuppered by how bad this version is.

Regardless of how terrible the v1 Joker was, it still sold out.

I fear this may be TDK Two Face scenario - people will not buy it because of the issues and the belief that there will be a better version. In doing so HT will think ok this is not a character worth doing a 'proper' release for, so we'll just leave it. Lose/Lose for everyone


That's why its all the more important to get them to fix THIS one before production.

Although I dont think there is any major faults with the figure, nor do I hope for a second release, I kinda agree.
I do hope for a DX. But like void said, this is the Two-face scenario. I think that beacuse of to little sells HT wont make a DX, and there for I'm buying this one.

I also think that it's not such a big character. Sure, it's the villain who will end Batman in this trilogy, but in the DC universe he's not that iconic (to me). Maybe that can also make this figure a 1-version-deal.

A bit OT, but did they digitally remove his tattoos? Seems like it would have been easier to cover them with makeup.

They did both. Just pretended on the scenes.

As far as this figure...

This looks like a $130 Sideshow figure, not a $200 Hot Toys figure.

I really like the head sculpt,but if they don't fix some of the minor issues with this figure,(ex:the vest ,the boots,pant etc) its really going to affect the plans I have for the camo tumbler...Ah who am I kidding I'm still getting it..

The wristguard is there as an accessorie. Not sure why they didn't put it on for the promotional shots.

Not sure how the hell I missed that. Guess I glossed over that particular picture. Also has the longsleeved shirt, which is good -- completes this version of the costume.

Wonder if we can put the vest over the sweater as well as have the cpat on? I will agree arms are a tad skinny but i was always going to pose with the coat on anyway which looks awesome so im pleased with this

i like it and definitely PO it but wow, this fig has a lot of inaccurate stuff going on since u guys pointed a lot of things, hope ht fix it, also i'm disappointed most of the pics of bane doesn't show him wear his right hand gauntlet(i know its there on the last pic)

Why I'm not gonna complain. I know I'll get it - all set for all things Bat. It's not a seriously cool figure as I said earlier, and it didn't get me all excited, like the 66 Batmobile did. It's one for the colection without being THE one for the collection. I hope the reveal for Catwoman will have me thinking the reverse.

Woke up this morning to see pictures of this. Kinda underwhelming IMO.

There are some shots that look identical to the Mattel Movie Master figures, which shouldn't happen at this high level of craftsmenship.

I'm not going to PO, and I hate to see what the price is for this guy. Hopefully there is a re-do down the line, it might just depend on the reception of the TDKR; which I hear is awesome!

I think dinolast hit the nail on the head, give him the Barney Ross arms. He would look a load better.

As it stands though I think this is a fantastic figure and a great representation of bane. Some things could be improved like the pants and vest but what figure couldn't be improved in some way.

Put his head and outfit on a Barney Ross body (with tattoes removed) and this'll be better.

My thoughts on:

Visible joints:
It's an action figure.

Can't do "Like a Boss" pose:
Please don't be the same people complaining about visible joints, otherwise the contradiction is a danger to the stability of the universe.

Looks lackluster:
After seeing expensive DX Batman figures with incredible head sculpts, a MMS of a guy with a bald head and face mostly obscured by a mask is going to be underwhelming. (I feel it too)

It's not a DX:
Yes, we've known that since January. Bane is not an iconic character. He could be after everyone has seen the movie, but right now he isn't. We have two other Batman DX's right now that are pushing $250 each. A bare bones MMS is good enough for me. It will be my first HT purchase under $200. My wallet thanks you. If Tom Hardy/Bane's popularity grows to Arnold-like proportions, make a DX.

Doesn't look right/costume is off:
He's beefy enough and the head looks fine to me, but that vest does need to be reworked.

Agreed. Looks good. Could be better. I'm more on board now that I've finally figured out that the wristguard is included, the ******* photographer just forgot to use it. Same with the longsleeved shirt ... which would've been nice to see used in the photos.

tom hardy is not big at all

he has a beefy neck and traps but his arms and legs arnt that big

the figure does look a tad skinny for some reason and the exposed joints dont help
