If they do fix something, it will be very minor or something really big. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Haven't read every post, but I think assuming there will be a DX or 2.0 is a bit presumptuous. This character ain't Joker. Nor is he Batman. He isn't nearly as iconic as those others, and doesn't pop on the shelf like those other guys do. If this figure doesn't sell well, then it wouldn't shock me if HT didn't revisit the character (in fact, I wouldn't expect it). Remember that HT doesn't give us characters based on great performances the vast majority of time. They give us characters based on what will sell.

Agreed. There are opportunities for secondary releases if this sells well ... but, if it doesn't sell well enough, this could be all she wrote. Think Two Face.

Frankly I think while they may have plans to do an upgraded version, those plans risked being scuppered by how bad this version is.
Regardless of how terrible the v1 Joker was, it still sold out.
I fear this may be TDK Two Face scenario - people will not buy it because of the issues and the belief that there will be a better version. In doing so HT will think ok this is not a character worth doing a 'proper' release for, so we'll just leave it.
Lose/Lose for everyone
That's why its all the more important to get them to fix THIS one before production.
Why so skinny?
Pretty much what I said - all the more important to GET THIS ONE RIGHT.
Yeah, Two Face is a good precedent for lots of arguments that folks make about Hot Toys. I thought it was a great figure for the time, but it just wasn't interesting enough, and wasn't an important enough character in general (i.e., outside of the film) to sell to casual HT collectors. I can easily see that happening here.
And I do empathize with folks thinking this figure looks kind of lackluster, but I personally don't think anything here is surprising (he's a kinda boring looking character IMO). He's lacking a few accessories I and most others wouldn't have any use for (a picture of Dent, a mic, a detonator?), and he seems to have the major looks of the character covered. I guess he could be a bit bulkier, but he looks big enough to my eyes. I'm thankful whenever HT decides NOT to do the googly eyes personally, since it messes up likenesses as frequently as it enhances the figure. . .
What are the problems that really rile you up about this one, void, since I figure you're more familiar than others about what he's supposed to be and come with?
I largely agree. It is mostly good enough.
The only thing that really bothers me is the lack of a wristguard ...
The gauntlet seems to be almost a trademark of this version of Bane. The boots are a little bothersome -- they're way off. Otherwise, a couple of minor tweaks to colors or straps or whatever would help, and an accessory or two.
