BTW, is the release date January now instead of March? Sideshow says January but BBTS(where I preordered from) says March.

I believe BBTS gets their shipment from Sideshow, so it shouldn't be too long after. However, I never ordered from BBTS so I don't really know.

The figure looks far more impressive in that video than in the photos.

i agree! i think in-hand he's going to be awesome.

Ok, point to you.

However if they have a basis and ground to stand on I can respect that more than the posts that just whine.

"It isn't accurate." - Well what do you think isn't correct?
"I hate it." - Why?
"What a horrible figure." - Cool you have an opinion, but why did you come to that conclusion?

Help me see your point of view. I can see the flaws... but I still love the thing. I enjoyed the character, I think Tom Hardy is a terrific actor, Bane was the very first villain I was introduced to growing up (him and Doomsday that is) and I thoroughly enjoyed the film.

The clothes are the wrong colour.
The mask is the wrong shape.
He has no nose.
His body is too small.
The boots are wrong.
The arm joints are on show.
His head looks too small.
The jacket and trousers are too clean.
It has zero accessories except the broken mask. - Give him a detonator, his knitting wool, the shotgun, Harvey dent pic - the nuclear bomb?! or the alternative stock exchange jacket.

The stand looks great - I've considered buying just the stand for Batman and removing the nameplate. Knowing previous HT metal nameplates, it will have already dropped off anyway.

Everyone new to Hot Toys is blinded by the instant "IT'S OUT SO I MUST HAVE IT!"

It's a poor figure - it does not match the recent quality of other Hot Toys figures. Look at Jack Sparrow, Luke Skywalker, T800, Keaton Batman or Nicholson Joker.

Granted I don't analyze these things like some folks do (absolutely nothing wrong with that either) here is why I enjoy it:

1. I like Tom Hardy as an actor
2. I loved Bane in TDKR
3. The overall look is terrific. Is it flawed? Yep, but not enough to deter me from purchasing
4. I want him in my collection
5. He'll fit in well with my DX12 and other Bat-family releases.

I like Hardy too. I like Bane in the film and I was looking forward to getting this guy.

Ebay prices have all gone up by about £60 - £70 in the last 24 hours making it almost £190.

It has been £134.99 for the last few months with free shipping.
It's worth waiting because the price could go down and the necessary mods will have been discovered.

I'm really on the fence about this guy. I love the character and want more Rises on the shelf but I just can't get excited about this figure.

I'm thinking if I wait and the price drops like Harvey, I will love him. But at full price he isn't nearly worth it.

BBTS never knows until someone brings it to their attention lol if you email them I'm sure once they respond and say that it will be January/February they'll change their site shortly after.

Why do people think this is good? What attributes or positives does it have other than, "oh, it's my first Bane figure and I liked the guy", or "they gave him the half inch long scar and zippers on his trousers".

The figure itself, what's great about it? I think the base is great, but bases don't make a figure or the overall package, and the overall package for this one blows (IMO of cawse).

Well I did list my own reasons so I guess that's that? With that said, I did indirectly agree with you before regarding the box art. It seriously could have been better.

i still don't get why people seem to get affected by others comments, i'm buying this figure for me so other peoples comments on it don't bother me, i do however like to come here to view other peoples opinions on the figure and mods they plan to do etc. i take nothing said about these figures to heart cause at the end of the day these are just nice things for me to look at and represent my favorite films/franchises.

I think they've nailed headsculpt, the coat looks nice (certainly no other figure in my collection has an outfit like this one does), like you said the base is nice, the broken cowl is a cool little accessory and the figure probably has 3 different looks (bare arm, coat and jumper), those are probably the things I like about it and yeah it's Bane and he's never been done before.

At the end of the day this isn't a DX release it's a standard MMS figure, some MMS figures excel in what they bring to the table (like say the T1000) but then some are fairly standard. I like this figure, it wont win any figure of the year contests but it does what it's meant to.

The problem with the argument from your side is those who pick flaws in it are basically bad mouthing what is soon to be someone elses new purchase, it's like talking to a mate and calling a girl they secretly have a crush on dog ugly no one wants to hear that (certainly not over and over again). The flip side of it is if someone likes something and you dont what do you care? Surely good luck to the person who see's the positive in it?

Except this isn't a message board for discussing devaluation of the dollar, third world problems, medical life saving techniques or how to invest your money. It's an open message board where we discuss toys, dolls, collectibles and movies. Last time I checked, a message board can have criticism considering criticism is part of discussing. I'm sick of seeing, "don't like it, don't buy it" and "if you don't like it, why post". Everyone here is allowed to express what they want.


People say that, "oh, you're nitpicky", "I feel bad for you", "sorry you're never happy", "sorry for your loss", well that goes both ways doesn't it?


How about, "you're gullible", "too easy to please", "you'll buy anything that hot toys puts out", "I'm sorry for your bad taste".

However, there are those who don't like reading other people's argument when the argument is in opposition of their own and they take it upon themselves to ridicule, badmouth, etc. people with opposing views.

But then, shouldn't we get rid of ignore list (blacklist posts of member(s) you don't like)? I mean, who are we to judge other people's point of view and completely dismiss them without allowing them explain their position. And there are racialist, ignorant, hypocrite members here, shouldn't we listen to them as much as we listen those who are clever, wise, honest and expect both sides to discuss things out civilly? I mean, by blacklisting people isn't that the same as infringing their right to be heard?

Ignoring is one thing, blacklisting is a completely different matter.

I am sufficiently impressed ...

Glad to see the neck scar. Doesn't look as bad shirtless as I anticipated. Traps look better than they did in the promo shots. Neck thickness looks right from that back-shot. Brown undershirt looks fine ... though they still didn't get the sleeve under the wristguard.

Not bad at all.

No worse than the DX12 box. It was alright but very plain. I don't display the boxes or anything though so it's not a selling point for me.

I've never thought of it quite like that but it may indeed be that kind of thing. Perhaps a bit less hurtful or extreme with regard to toys though. In the case of someone calling a girl dog ugly I'm also concerned about the girl's feelings if she knew. So thats an added factor there that isn't present with the toys.
