Went with him. It was great!! Not only that but actually seeing the film really made me realize how inaccurate HT's Bane's coat actually is. :monkey2 :lol

I'm more concerned with the underlying body, though it would be great if they can change the coat to be more movie accurate.

I feel the same, it doesn't look like the same build he has in the film. And he NEEDS to be able to do "his like a boss" pose.

Also:

Where is the microfone? Doesn't he come with one? Seemed like an obvious accessoire.

Indeed it doesn't matter to me. Anyone's opinion is equal. To me, you're just like everyone else here. But glad to know you've got your self esteem, good for you. Now ofcourse I could make comments on how you misrepresent that your opinions reflect poorly upon your school, but I suppose I'm not that childish. Kind of sad that they didn't teach you that art is all about personal taste though, or maybe you skipped that class.

I've deleted my messages, will delete this one too later. Lets discuss toys, since we won't sort this out like grown ups anyway.

You're an interesting bloke. Me too, I felt the urge to compare our posts to see who's being childish. And I can quote so many art critics in regard to the scope of what can be construed as personal taste when it comes to arts. But yeah, let's talk about the figure.

I am not familiar with the body type, are you saying that this type of articulation is restricted to the point that it can't be posed with his hands holding his jacket? If that is the case then it's very understandable why his deltoid is so small, perhaps to make sure that he can somewhat hold the big boss pose. Bigger arms will restrict the figure even more so, right?

I guess so, but then again, I think this is hard to pull off. Either go for posability or physical accuracy. I prefer the latter myself, I hate joints. I've heard people claiming the coat is inaccurate, do you what they;re referring to?

Love the word "bloke". Seriously, English is not my native language, but the word bloke is so bloody awesome.

Found this image, I wish he could come in this outfit.

Not mine either. Regarding the coat... Beats me, looks pretty accurate to me. The color maybe off, but that's it.

I believe he comes with that outfit though I don't think you can have it worn underneath the vest.

It's the same outfit pictured above right? The one to the right?

Oh snap you're right. Doesn't make sence if you couldn't wear it underneath the armor though! This figure just got better in my book.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

what's this saying there's no difference between personal taste and professional opinion? Of course they're different. Personal taste is strictly subjective whereas professional opinion is given with a number of different facets of knowledge relating to the subject matter from which the opinion is formed and then only then do they draw their subjectivity.

You're entirely right of course, but you're preaching in the desert. Objectivity is a lost concept in our society, so it certainly is lost here.

I'm saying there's no such thing in art. Art is subjective. Not objective.

Ofcourse in factual things it's untrue. But stick within the subject, it was about acting. Which is an art form. Which is personal to everyone, hence the subjectivity. If somone says he likes something in art, or dislikes it, you can't say he's right, or wrong. All you can say is, I agree, or I disagree.

This obviously does not work the same with factual things, where things can be proven.

To prove my point: Someone could tell me Heath Ledger was terrific ( which I think he was ) and I could tell that person, I don't like it. Therefor, in my opinion, he wasn't terrific. And I would be right, but he would also be right. Art is subjective.

I strongly dislike Jack Nicholson's performance as the Joker for example, for my own reasons. But I would NEVER say he did a bad job, because that's my opinion, and it's subjective. As is anyone else's. No matter how good you try to build up your point to say he would be good, I could just say, I disagree. And I would be right, just like you.

Anyway, I thought we had dropped this.

EDIT: oh, and objectivity lost in this forum? You've got to be kidding me. The disliking of the Mark VII is for example very objective, because it does not represent what it should. It's not the same, because it's not art.

The Michael Keaton Batman is a terrific figure, because it represents the source material VERY closely. But if you for example don't like the figure, because of the design of said source material, you would be subjective in your opinion about the design, but still would have to be objective about how well made the figure is.

Hope I made sense.

No, but I won't get into this with you. Let's stick to Bane. He's awesome.

Thanks for the honesty.

He's awesome, but am I the only one who thinks he looks a bit dull expression wise? His eyes aren't lifelike as some other HT releases.

Lol, weird, just looked at the prototype pics, and for some reasons he looks like Darth Vader sans mask to me.
