Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Catwoman won't get a DX and she doesn't need one. The DX line should be reserved for those that really make use of it. Joker from 1989 Batman really did not need one either.

Now I can actually see the benefit to a Bane DX if anything just because like with Batman you aren't getting a lot of face here so the movable eyes would be a nice touch. At this point though having a DX on top of having a normal release is just greedy. Also, I rather not pay forty dollars more because a guy can move his eyes. The exact same product could be released as a non DX without the eyes and be forty dollars cheaper. That's how Hot Toys rolls and this Bane is excellent proof of it.

I do think it is weird he does not come with detonation triggers, Harvey Dent poster, etc.. These are so small and simple, but Hot Toys usually includes those basic trinkets regardless.

Want to know what I think? I think this will be included in the real thing. I think that like with Loki they are waiting for the movie to have been out for awhile before revealing maybe all the inclusions. Without spoiling anything, I think this is why The Bat has not been put up for preorder or had more promotional shots to it. At the same time though we have known forever that he detonates stuff and holds up the Dent poster so I could be wrong :/

i agree with you for the most part except that 89 Joker didnt need to be a DX...adjusting the eyes really changes the expression PERS really works for this figure.

Yeah, Bane really needs more accessoires. The detonator and Dent picture are the most needed IMO. Both were used in the outfit they are giving us and there is no excuse not to have them included, especially at the price point.

The worst thing they could do would be to release another Bane as some kind of convention exclusive or something. Have him in a different outfit and with all the other accessories. Ugh.

Sadly, It'll probably be the case. I'm guessing a Gotham Stock Exchange invasion outfit.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Nope. No whip. She is never even referred to as Catwoman.

I knew about the name, but thanks on the other. At least I know one accessory that she will/will not come with.

I wouldn't mind that set up. I really like the coat he wore in the scene and in later ones. A battle damaged head would be cool too for an additional figure

Relax my goodness. I don't even know if I would call that a spoiler. Also, if you haven't seen the movie then avoid threads that have anything to do with it. I don't get why people have such a hard time with that idea and if anything people should be happy so many are using spoiler tags to avoid even the slightest of spoilers. The assumption in every other thread on this website is that the people know the source material and it is pretty easy to just avoid a few figurine threads for a few days until you are ready to go. I feel like the people who get spoiled on stuff like this are basically asking for it so they can complain or know what happens.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I stopped reading these threads after the first post from someone saying they even SAW the movie. Coming and reading these and not expecting to have something blown is just foolish (yes people should use spoiler tags, but this is the internet and you should expect people not to).

Having seen the movie, I can happily return :D

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I saw the movie so my Internet blackout ends. I never had any doubt about how I'd feel about Bane, so I preordered as soon as it came available at Toys2. I will buy just about any character HT released from this trilogy. It is just too awesome.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Disagree.
The whole watch gotham die in a pit thing is NOT a mind-game? The whole, breaking mind before body not a mind game?
Bane was the better villain, had Ledger still been alive, I'm sure we'd look at this thing differently, not to take away the fact that he did terrific, but Joker is an easier character to bring to the screen than Bane, and in that respect, I think Hardy outdid Ledger.

Bane is my favorite villain because of this movie.

Sorry, what are you basing that on? Your personal taste or is it a professional opinion. I've seen the movie, Hardy's performance was phenomenal, yes, but nowhere near Ledger's and here's why:
Ledger brought more to the table, his acting arsenal included unscripted mannerism, extreme professionalism, a true method actor who stayed in character off-screen for the duration of the production. Hardy brought a lot to the Bane character, yes, but nothing compared to Ledger because Tom is not a method actor (method acting is where an actor immerses themselves in the character to the point where they can think, feel, and react in the way the character would). Anne Hathaway on the other hand is. I'm sorry but Ledger's performance will always be remembered in academic circles.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Ledger did not stay in character off screen.

So this is wrong then?
A source told FOX News: "Heath refused to talk to anyone out of character. If you tried to communicate with him normally instead of The Joker, he would just ignore you.

"He would often come to the set to hang out even on his days off, freaking everyone out. Towards the end of filming, he was warned by people that he had gone too far, but it was almost like he couldn't connect with those who cared for him anymore."

Ledger reportedly locked himself in an apartment for an entire month before playing The Joker, who he described as a "psychotic, mass-murdering clown".

Even if it's wrong, I wouldn't be surprised, it has "FOX news" involved. The point though is that many consider Ledger as the epitome of Strasberg's Acting Method.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Well, you can also watch the behind the scene feature on The Dark Knight Blu-Ray/DVD. It's pretty clear how fascinated the people involved in the production were with Ledger's acting. Method actor is a dying breed, though. I can't name any young actor who is interested in real acting as opposed to fame and fortune. Real shame. Anyway, let's talk about the figures, not acting, yeah.

Still not convinced. They only need to fix the shoulder and deltoid area, really. Color doesn't seem to annoy me as much anymore.
