Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

did anyone notice at the specification it says " undetachable mask " ??

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Why would it be removable?? It never comes off in the movie!!!!!!!!!

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

You guys sure you can't remove the armor? Since he also appears without it in the film.

Surely it is after all they've included the long sleeve t-shirt he has in the film and what would be the point of locking that armour on him when the long sleeve t-shirt is worn under the armour plating.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Glad this isn't a DX as it keeps the price down. Loved Bane in the movie and think this costume looks fantastic even if the straps on his vest aren't 100% accurate.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

The movie kinda killed any chance of me wanting to own this guy. I was hoping we where going to get an awesome, intimidating bad ***...like the joker...but his voice was too hilarious to pull it off.

does any 1 think there will be a dx?

Agreed. After watching the movie last night that killed any chance of my wanting this figure. Between his Darth Vader voice and his ridiculous stature, I'm over this villain. Why didn't they just cast some guy who was seven feet tall and use Hardy's voice? Anyway, I'll go easy on the complaints until everyone has seen this movie.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

To me the voice is what made Bane. Without it, you just had some buff guy who got kicked out of pro wrestling. With it though, they really are able to get across the idea that Bane is very intelligent. It completely changes the way you perceive him. I would go so far as to argue that without it he would have been rather forgettable. The voice combined with the great body language and slight subtle movements/expressions made him really interesting. Like the Joker it was entertaining just seeing Bane talk to people.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I don't understand why so many people are complaining about Bane's stature, or his lack of venom, or why he isn't seven feet tall? Have you not seen Batman Begins or The Dark Knight? You should know by now that there was no way in hell any of those elements would be in one of Nolan's Batman films. You've seen how Nolan treats these characters. He keeps them, at their core, the same as their comic book counterparts (I.e. Bane; Batman's mental and physical equal), but he grounds them in his somewhat real world. To complain about his lack of super steroids, or that he wasn't seven feet tall is asinine. You knew from the start that those things wouldn't happen.

I think there will be one. batman is a DX, it's only fitting for Bane to be the same, especially since Bane's mouth is covered so he needs the pers even more than Batman.

I just hope it won't be the

Stock exchange robbery Bane figure. I didn't like his outfit there.

Hopefully it will just be the same Bane figure as now but of better quality and with pers (and more accessories)

What if the stock exchange bane comes with red helmet and motorcycle?

Because of the acting in the EYES and his movement. :dunno

Hardy knocked it out - it was never gonna be a Joker level performance, but he more than did it justice IMO

Even with those things I still wouldn't get it.

The helmet's colour is completely random and doesn't match anything, and his suit there just looks plain and too tight

I want the iconic Bane with bare arms and the vest on (don't even need the jacket) + I want him to be able to do his pose where he holds onto the vest. If Hot Toys can make this I will be one happy bunny. Don't even care too much about accessories.

Amazing that a figure this small even gets the color right.

I agree.. I was joking earlier though. I wouldn't buy it even with all those things I mentioned earlier either. But alas, Hot Toys is not one of those companies that actually listen to their customer. Take their facebook page, for example, not a single reply from their CS.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I don't get how HT can get a mistake on something as simple as the colour, I mean it's gotta be an accident, right? They can't not fix something like that.

Ah okay, didn't realise :slap:lol Yeah it's annoying, so many people post on their fb page about various changes and there is absolutely no replies. I suppose we just gotta hope that they actually check it and take our opinions into consideration.

Does anyone know whether Hot Toys ever publish pictures of fixed prototypes? Or will we just have to wait till release?

The venom could easily be incorporated to the story. It could just be a steroid stimulant that gave him an extra push.
Or that the LoS experimented on him with venom to keep him alive.
No need to make him grow three times his size. They could've even mentioned that his mask emitted an oxidized dose of venom, as a nod to the comics.

I'm more disappointed that Bane was essentially
a musclebound henchman,
and not the clever supergenius of the comics. I get why Nolan did what he did, but he could have stuck a little closer without sacrificing the story he wanted to tell.
