I gather Skull doesn't take compliments all that well. :lol

I honestly wasn't sure how to take your choice of gif so the Willis gif seemed appropriate:monkey3

The purple highlights are on all surfaces, although as others have pointed out, they do seem to be a bit more prevalent on the metal parts. But it's very clearly there on plastic parts like his chest and helmet.

WTF? No love for Top Gun? Ignore "that scene" and the stuff with Kelly McGillis and you got yourself a really good actioner.

haha... for a Summer action flick Top Gun is actually one of the better Bruckheimer films. Pretty fun to watch. Along with the other movies mentioned, throw in 1985 Fright Night and Day of the Dead for good old 80's flicks. Also Goonies, Stand By Me, Karate Kid, Lost Boys, Conan the Barbarian, Big, Vamp and all the John Hughes stuff.

I really, really want figures from '85 Fright Night and Conan the Barbarian. Imagine Vampire Amy and Evil Ed, and Peter Vincent. =D

It was a genuine compliment, it wasn't snarky or sarcastic. I agreed with your take on collecting. Such are the limits of context-free Internet communication. :lol

I could've gone with a Rock or Citizen Kane clapping gif, but I've seen a lot of those around here, so I decided to mix it up.

All good then and thanks for the compliment:duff

Yup gunmetal grey is the colour it should be. Chromocop just looks ridiculous. He looks like a battlestar galactica 80's cylon.

Yeah, the paint, both on the armor and the skin, is a major letdown. But the figure is still gorgeous and impressive, color issues aside. It's even got some heft to it, despite the scant use of diecast. It's easily the best 1/6 Robo ever made.

Don't get me wrong I agree the figure itself is great but I just don't see how you can get over that paintjob both on the armour and skin. Its like finishing off a chocolate cake with a carrot on top.

Some pictures really do make it look terrible. Others make it look better than it really is. As always the reality is somewhere in between.

Is there another 1/6 80's Robo besides the first HT version?

So in a nutshell for those who have Robocop already….This figure is the bomb, beautiful, your love it, best figure of 2014…BUT….

The colour of armour is chrome/Silver and skin tone is a few shades to dark….AND….

Would have loved to own the proto / SDCC displayed version

I really do wish people would stop referring to the color as "chrome." The figure is silver, but it does not come close the the level of shininess and reflectiveness that I think of when I think of chrome.

Now THAT is a chrome RoboCop :)
