HT Star-Lord and Groot > HT Han and Chewie. So glad I have Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket and Groot on pre-order.
Drax on the other hand....

Yeah, we shouldn't worry too much. The way this guy is turning out, I don't even have any worries for Drax anymore. Bet his new sculpt will blow us away

This shot was posted on JC Hong's Facebook page. My first thought was "wow:"

Perfection. Can't wait.

Wow, they're making it hard to not want to collect this line. Great looking sculpt to top of an already awesome figure :clap

I think it looks really good. I'm sure there are a few things that could be improved upon, but I dig it; I love the smirk. I'm of the opinion that the pursuit of accuracy in this hobby has become a bit of a double edged sword, I think the realism has a lot to do with it, but, at the same time, I think people should remember that these are figures. You can capture the essence of a character without taking the actor to Wonka's factory and shrinking him down Mike Teevee style. Between the outfit, the attitude, and the likeness. You know that's Star Lord. Same deal goes for Solo in the Star Wars thread. It's absolutely okay to want the figure to be the best it can be, but don't forget to enjoy it, as well. The Solo thread seems to be a dark place, where complaints about the likeness looking more like anybody other than Harrison Ford have replaced the "holy crap! HT Star Wars!" sense of wonder.

I look at the Armory thread in the DC section, and a ton of people are super happy with that Batman figure. Personally, I don't think the Bale likeness on the neutral faceplate is that great, but the fact that it looks like Batman, and not some derpy eyed lunatic with a pervy smile, is enough for a lot of people, and they're genuinely happy with it, and I think people could learn something from that. The pursuit of perfection has taken a lot of the joy out of this hobby. I'm no hypocrite and I'll admit that there have been instances where I've been just as **** retentive, if not moreso, than the next guy, and that's okay, but, I'll reiterate, remember that this is supposed to be fun. Apologies for the rant, but I needed to write it somewhere.:lol

I know what you mean in the way that nothing is perfect so no one should over-obsess or push the pursuit of perfection to the limits, because perfection isn't achievable, so that takes some of the joy out of it. I'm admittedly one of the most detail oriented people here, and as **** as I am I'm aware that you have to leave room for acceptable imperfection.

That said, I never see something that's truly great getting a bad reaction. When something hits the mark it always gets recognized for being great, and the best of the best get universal praise. True, not everything is going to be a grand slam, but HT has grown to a point where everything should at least be a home run. The large majority won't give a crap if Sucker Punch Amber isn't a grand slam; but after nailing things Falcon, Mandarin, Gamora and everything else they ever hit dead on the screws, people are going to voice disappointment when characters like fkin' Han & Chewie aren't hitting the 90% perfect mark... and rightfully so.

That new sculpt is wonderful. I had no real interest in this line before, now I'm going to find it hard not to get it.
