so what are most people doing to put the air force logo on the torso? the rubbing alcohol to remove ED445 or sand paper?

I've read that the rubbing alcohol works perfectly, although I did not have any. Do not use nail polish remover as that does start to smear the grey. Luckily, it wasn't that bad and rubbing in some graphite restored it for me.

Mine will be here on Tuesday. Should i go for the decals too? How hard is it to apply them?
.

Not that difficult. They come with good instructions. I just used a pair of tweezers and a small pair of scissors. I tried to trim the decals down to the image with a razor before peeling off the backing, but they're white on white. I couldn't really see what I was doing. I ended up having to peel it off first and then trim as best I could with the scissors.

I was advised to use rubbing alcohol but have not tried that yet myself.

Whatever you decide to do, do NOT use sandpaper. :panic: :panic: :panic:

I can only recommend Firebird's decals - they are IMO inexpensive, beautifully printed to detail and scale, and so easy to apply even a mod-wuss like me can confidently apply them.

I left the original stickers in place and didn't apply Firebird's stickers over them - a bit of graphite on the new stickers and they match perfectly with the original decals. Also I didn't rub off and replace the left ribcage graphic - might live with the others for a while and then decide whether I'll also do this one. Feels stupid to do all of them except that one, but I have a bit of OC when it comes to keeping figs in their original condition/configuration.

As soon as my kid's birthday party is over and done with I'm gonna take some pics of WM all decaled up :)

I can confirm this. It's true....Lejuan is a mod-wuss.

That makes two of us. For some reason, I'd like to be able to return my figs to their original, 'stock' version in case I decide to sell them. Irreversible mods are not for me.

That's what it's all about right there. Keep the little one safe, healthy, and happy. Happy B-day to the young one.

LOL!
That was priceless!
Thanks for the laugh buddy! :lol

I wonder why do you guys write where you wrote the message from?
Just curious.:)

I always thought that was a part of the program that's running the utility. It applies that signature at the bottom automatically. I don't know for sure though.

:lecture. I think it can be turned off, but I haven't played with the preferences yet. I don't really post that much from my phone so it isn't that big a deal.

This definitely applies to me. I'm very scared of modding/painting any items because I basically have zero artistic qualities in my blood.

Lol.

yup under settings you can customize it. its actually a great lil program for keeping up with participating threads. best of all ignored users really disappear completely from the threads :D
though sometimes pics dont show :p

its a signature like the one you have here but they default it to that message ... not a big deal

lol i was a bit skeptical using sandpaper even at the finest grit, so I just used the rubbing alcohol technique and it works really well.

Some pics with Firebird's stickers - on close inspection I didn't firm down the stickers well enough in some places. I only noticed when I looked at the high-res pics :slap. I've firmed them all down nicely now, but couldn't be arsed taking new pics just now. He'll come out for another photo shoot when I get hold of a wider lens from work :)

Awesome figure & congrats! I'd need to hire someone to apply the decals, I drink way too much caffeine to get them on properly :lol

:lecture They look good enough to me buddy. :clap
Thanks for sharing.

Cheers Centurion! I only wish I had a man cave where I could photograph my dollies in peace and quiet. I tried to get some shots happening in the dining room and it would've worked too if it hadn't been for those meddlesome kids!

An awesome figure I nearly passed on :slap. I'm glad I don't have to add WM to Blade and Mk I on my list of coulda-woulda-shouldas.

Jim's stickers are so easy to apply you could throw them at the figure from the other side of the room and they'd still turn out well.
