After watching Iron Man 2
I think Hot Toys will definitely release a Battle Damaged War Machine (if they are going to re-release any figures from the IM2 range). He uses weapons and gadgets not on the current HT War Machine and the damage he receives would be visually interesting on a figure.

I don't get to see the movie until Saturday (going to see it in IMAX though!) but I did read that even though a practical suit was built for War Machine they redid the surface of it to look more metallic. So the surface of this figure might reflect the look of that practical suit. I wonder if they'll change it up before the final production to look more movie accurate? I actually don't mind the finish, but I'm guessing they could push it even further.

the 'ex-wife' is a dud. maybe that's why ht changed the design. :lol there'll be lots of protests in here about that i'm sure.

btw, what a lame finale fight was that? favreau still cannot do a proper climax, the end fight here is just as unmemorable as it was in the first film.

After seeing the film .. shouldn't the rockets on the backs of war-machines legs expand more or something ..i remember there being allot more to them in the film ..just looking at the figure now .they seem very simple and lacking something ..

I saw the film this afternoon and until the films came out I didnt actually know anything about Iron Man but this maybe a stupid question but does the Mark 2 get turned into War Machine or is War Machine completely new? Sorry if thats a noob question

Mk.2 turned to WarMachine. Reasons
1. Repulsor tech, still Starks.
2. Rhodey wants to give back the suit but latter decides to keep it.

that wasn't mentioned in im2? it was generally hinted in im1 that's how it was gonna be im2. Though with Tony's behavior I would imagine he would just make a new one.

I said awhile back that War Machine was basically just the mk2 which extra armor and guns stuck on it... which exactly what it is and someone jumped all over me for being wrong.

I know that this is the wrong thread to post it in, but I could not find where the thread relating to the movie was, and because this post is somewhat related to the Mark II/War Machine, I'll post it here.

When I was watching the movie, something occurred to me. In the Hall of Armor section of the IM dvd, it stated that the Mark II was not weaponized, so the repulsors on the gauntlets were just flight stabilizers.

How was Rhodey able to utilize the beam repulsor beams then, or was it weaponized during the six month period. also did anyone notice that all the suits have their own arc reactor in the hall of armor, even the Mark IV?

The repulsors can do that, when Tonys doing the flight test he preforms a repulsor blast in the first movie.

I was quite sure that that was just the flares of light from the at-that-time flight stabilizers, but i could be wrong. If you were refering to when he said "I didn't expect that" when i first built the gauntlets, it could have been that the output was too high. Also, didn't Tony only find out about the capabilities of the repulsors after the Mark III was built, when he was screwing with the gauntlet, because they beams had to be at a certain frequency to blast, a-la the build-up of energy?

The functionality of the RTs for flight or as a weapon are the same as far as I can tell.

I think its interesting this version of the figure doesnt have certain weapons War Machine used in the movie, but this figure also comes with weapons that arent used in the movie at all.
