I'm torn between keeping mine and selling it to finance some future (unknown) purchases. I'm not a huge IM2 fan, and just the MkIV is enough to represent the film for me. I even ordered new batteries so I can take evidence pics of the lights working for a sale listing. But every time I think on selling it I think about how cool it is as a figure in its own right. I shouldn't have come into this thread again. My resolve to sell is crumbling.
In many ways I find War Machine a more compelling standalone piece than Iron Man (have the SV WM) so I'd also counsel not to sell, especially if it's not for something you want specifically. And display-wise, Iron Man (Mk IV's also my favourite but missed out on it) and War Machine together are pretty powerful.

How much you sellin him for?

I haven't set a price yet, as I'm still on the fence about selling anything at all. But once I get round to inspecting him with a magnifying glass and taking macro shots to confirm he's mint I'll be committed. I'm thinking under $400, but not less than $300 + shipping. Anything less than that I'd rather just keep him, he's still a fun figure.

Yeh, I don't dig the character per se, but it's a great piece of design. You don't have to be an IM fan to like it. My girlfriend was surprised when I said I was thinking of selling it, saying it was one of the cooler pieces.

Yeah, I'd totally agree with that. I don't have a real affinity with the Iron Man movies but I like that certain representations (like most of the IM armours, War Machine and Iron Monger) are as good as any comic book representation would be and that ties back to early days reading comics with IM and company. Also, I think about display value and for me that means IM and WM, with Monger a nice add-in, if it fits one's budget and there's not too much competing coming out at the same time, which happened to be the case for me.

i wouldn't sell WM. over anything else in the IM line that original suit from IM2 will never be reissued in its original form ever again now that IM3 is the new "in thing"

I have the same dilemma. I've drastically cut down my HT collection recently, but I can't decide if I want to keep war machine. BTW I've got the mms117 T2 T800 for sale if anybody wants him:D

I wouldn't sell it, big, beefy, armed, got a good paint job. That and the IM3 War Machine looks a bit too skinny to be called War Machine but ok to go with calling it Iron Patriot.

I think they will sell it again... As long as there is profit from new collectors who missed out on the first release, and older collectors who may have passed on it way back when.. A few tweaks and a refined head sculpt...look it's ver 2.0. It will happen. HTs isn't as snowed under as you think.. I work in the product design/manufacturing field and I think they have a very good handle on what they are doing. IMO.

I wish they would release a version 2.0 for those who missed the first run. They can tweak it out and maybe add some extra armor that has battle damage on it. This was one if their finest figure as far as design goes so a version 2.0 would fly off the shelf.

I'm not sure we'll see a 2.0 this close to the IM3 version. Especially since we'll probably be getting two versions of it. They reissued the mold once for the MILK version, which is goddamn amazing looking.

Why would HT do another War Machine from IM2 when there's two on the way from IM3?

Plus they've kinda already done a 2.0 version with the milk magazine version

I was not yet sucked into the collecting of Hot Toys when they released the first War Machine figure, and although I thought the milk version was cool looking I tend to keep my collecting to movie continuity. Now I have been slowly picking up all the old figures I missed. I just purchased a War Machine still sealed in package for 350. A lot of money, but not as much as it could have been. I had to have him, because I want to eventually have a shelf with the evolution of the War Machine armor. Very anxious to finally get him and open him.:impatient:
