I love my V1 SS Fett but I went ahead and preordered at BBTS (no NRD). It is a year (or over away) so If I change my mind I can cancel.

Wor-Gar was absolutely right

Every now and then. :wink1:

I think this shows the slight widening best.

Pre ordered! But... I have the Holiday Special version on Pre order as well... not sure if I should cancel that. I'm a sucker for the color blue... and I like the lizard poker... lol...

Still don't NEED two.

There's so many opinions on this from the neck length to the flaring. I've always been happy with my ROTJ version as it just looks like Fett... whether it's entirely screen accurate (which it is now very apparent it isn't) it's never effected my enjoyment of the figure. Seeing the pose on the DX images on the site with the left hand in a fist supporting the weight of the rifle really brought home Fett in ESB. I think that'll be the pose it gets displayed in first when it finally arrives. The more I've seen of the helmet images the happier I am with it and with any slight tweak from here on in it should only make it better.

for those of you up in the air, here is the SSC Version 2 ESB... you can see how it fairs next to the HT ROTJ. The HT ESB will be worth the upgrade, as unfortunately Sideshow has never been able to nail the ESB colors right.

I have the Hot Toys ROTJ Fett, and just pre-ordered the Deluxe ESB Version, I wish I could afford the Holiday Special version but do I need 3? No, but I want 3. Really wish I could afford the Holiday version, the color scheme looks great, very good idea for a variant as well.

Personally I think that it is the fact the chest armour sits way too high in the photos.

Almost at the collarbone.

Haha let the OCD analysis begin !!

Not having a go at you, just skimming through this thread there is a lot of it. It's what we freaks do best I guess :)

I'm still fine with my SS Fett, $175 with discount back in the day. Look at that wired cape fly ! :lol

What's interesting that HT has upgraded on the helmet that makes an noticeable difference to me, is the ear cap. Even above you can see how Sideshow's earcap was more accurate the HT ROTJ, the HT ROTJ sticks out way too far under the range finder. Where the SSC sits much more flush. You can see in the new HT ESB, they've corrected that and lowered the earcap so that it sits more flush as well.

*interesting in that, it's a very small detail a lot of people will likely not take notice of, but from the HT ROTJ helmet to HT ESB helmet, I stand corrected, there has been changes made, and the earcap just makes that obvious.

Thanks to whoever posted those side by side helmets, it was great seeing that!

Placed my order at BBTS. With no NRD and less than $10 shipping I'm not sure I'm going to be pre-ordering from SS much in the future.

Still have no idea why HT is not accurate... Beside the antenna a bit long. Moreover, what is wrong RTOJ version? I really like it... People is keep complaining about helmet not flare enough, but still can't see it.

Those multiple angle images they've shown on their Twitter feed of the helmet do make it look much more flared than the ROTJ version. I don't know how much o that is down to the colouration and the difference in rangefinder and opposite side panel.

Thank you for posting those pics, Robianco. The profile shot is particularly helpful. Here it is with a couple of movie images for comparison. The movie helmet has a more acute angle at the chin, and some curvature along the bottom, but those are things that can be modified a little with light sanding for anyone who's going for ultimate accuracy. I applaud HT for not just re-using the same helmet sculpt. They could have taken that easy route and still sold a ton. Way to go, HT! :clap

Why should anyone have to modify their figures to look accurate though? At this kind of price the figures should almost perfect.

There's no point in making a new sculpt if they don't get it right.

Huh. Aside from height of the range finder and the width of the ear piece, the side profile of the ROTJ helmet is actually a lot closer.
