I went in there with an open mind and really couldn't care about all the negative press. That said....

Movie was meh. I never once felt surprised by any of the plot outcomes. Very predictable. And as a character I never felt any emotional connection to her even though I know I was supposed to. Definitely not the worst Marvel movie, but nowhere near the top. Perhaps my view will shift once I see EG.

Many, me included are saying it was a middle of the road sort of MCU film.

I myself was surprised by the portrayal of the Skrulls. I totally wasn’t expecting that, and if I’m honest without it, my rating for the film would be lower.

I think that right now Marvel Studios films are kind of critic proof. Eventually they will drop a stinker and that will change but for now they can do no wrong.

So far, I think the worst thing Marvel's ever done was the Netflix Iron Fist series. I'm a pretty forgiving audience for this kind of material, but I thought it was poorly cast, poorly directed, poorly choreographed, poorly written, poorly acted...it's like they were *trying* to make something that bad...

Totally agree with you on that one. I was thinking more big screen but Iron Fist was a stinker :lol

I disagree......... Inhumans is the worst!

I actually liked season 2 quite a bit actually. Season 1 not at all though.

So is there a reason why in the 90s they called SHIELD...SHIELD? But for whatever reason in 2008 it was just Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division??? :lol

This movie is easily the worst written one in respect to story and overall continuity. :slap

You’ve got to be kidding me. That’s one of the silliest complaints I’ve read recently. Do you really think Coulson didn’t know what their acronym spelt. Unless he was a total moron. And anyway I believe that was seen to in both Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter (though that might have been that short rather than her series). But I know a lot of people didn’t watch either.

As far as I’m concerned the continuity problems being brought up are non issues really. Sure you might not like how he lost the eye, but it’s not exactly destroying what has been said before. Just what we assumed it to be.

And with regards to the Tesseract, it always bothered me why SHIELD didn’t have very advanced weapons like those made by the Red Skull in WW1. Given that daddy Stark did find it while searching for Cap in WW1. Captain Marvel sort of fills in a little of the blanks in regards to the cubes recent history and why Fury didn’t have access to it. Though at least it’s the same Project Pegasus in both Captain Marvel and the Avengers.

I am ok with that as it was annoying enough when coulson said the full name in Iron Man i would have gotten a lot more annoyed hearing it over and over in this movie.

I'm sure they knew it and just changed it for time and i'm sure SLJ did not want to say it over and over

Oh goodness. I'm pretty ok with all these shows. I didn't even mind Black Lightning, but Inhumans was very, very poorly done.

I didn’t even realise people disliked Black Lightning. But then again I’m still watching Arrow. As the goodwill from the first two seasons carried over the next few for me.

Reminds me of that funny line from agents of shield where someone goes, do you know what shield means? And the reply is, someone really wanted it to spell shield! I'm paraphrasing lol it's been a while since I watched that series

It's a goof in the continuity whether you like it or not. Sure it's minor, but it should at least be addressed.

This is why Better Call Saul is pretty epic. They make use of every small detail in BB and tie it into BCS. It helps immerse the audience more into the universe they've created. They don't insult the audience...in fact they reward the really eagle-eyed fans.

Sure, saying the entire words for the acronym of SHIELD would be mad annoying, but they could have written a throwaway line or something to address it. They didn't even try and merely just overlooked it...but then again they didn't really try with this movie at all. Generic, no risk-taking, and boring.

Once again, the SHIELD stuff is minor in the whole scheme of things...Captain Marvel had wayyyy bigger issues than just that, but then again there was like what? 4 or 5 writers for this movie? So that's where the bad writing stems from...too many cooks in the kitchen.

Clark Gregg was right there and that was his thing in Iron Man so he would have said something even if everyone else did not remember. I caught it also but forgot about it 5 seconds later. There are tons of continuity errors in all of these films some a lot bigger than a name.

TV shows are a lot easier to work with. A movie is between 2 or 3 hours vs an entire season on tv.

Not saying your wrong or right about generic, risk taking, boring, etc but i don't think this was any different than the 1st Iron Man, Thor, Strange or Captain America. Origin storys are just fun rides to let you know how they came to be.

She will be more fun in Endgame and future films now that the foundation of her story is done

How is 2 or 3 hours of a movie harder to cover/write than 12 or 13 hours of content from a TV show...sorry that argument makes no sense lol.

Nah...I got way more, but def don't feel like getting into it. The SHIELD one was the easiest to point out though.

That’s why I’m wondering if it’s a continuity error in the first place. I know it might not be considered canon but didn’t Howard Stark mention the name SHIELD in the Agent Carter Movie Short?

What others were there as I’ve heard of a couple of others, but they were iffy anyway, and could be explained away by the circumstances. Such as the Tesseract, Fury’s eye, and the reason for Phase 2 etc.
