Wow! Good thing I PO'ed the exclusive 2 months ago! I remember I missed out on the plastic Mark VII exclusive when I ordered it in March 2013. Finally warmed up to the Mark VII after watching The Avengers on DVD over and over...

I haven’t seen a figure go to waitlist from PO on sideshow in a very long time. If it was going to happen with a figure, not shocked it was this one.

This exclusive is pretty pointless.

The real question is...do you buy this if you already have a plastic Mark 7 is near mint state?

Absolutely. It will have better paint, proportions and engineering. I've owned the plastic Mark 4 and Mark 7 in the past -- my first diecast figures starting from the 46 were an order of magnitude better.

Can see this going the way of the V & VI on the secondary 12-18 months from release....and a lot of procrastinator's regret.

Agreed. I really see if happening with the VII as it’s always seemed like one of the most popular iron man armors. I know it’s one of mine

Same price so it's just s freebie.

Not only that but the 2 franchises (that HT’s makes figures) that are synonymous with holograms are Star Wars and Iron Man. It’s completely possible that there was a version of the A1 script that showed the pod in holographic form. It’s also a bonus for all us hardcore IM collectors that have multiple miniature holographic suits to add to our displays.

Honestly I'm not sure what the point of the hologram is anyway.

To put on your knockoff Stark light up tables. And to resell your figure at a higher price on eBay.

The spiderman advance suit and Darth Maul are both released early, maybe we can get this figure before October:lol

I want this figure so bad but having a hard time juggling 4 preorders due to delays, I hope it gets delayed just so I can afford it. :p

Ditto on wanting this one so much. I own all the plastic versions/variants and the best 1/4 Mk. VII statue (arguably the best 1/4 IM statue period) by XM Studios but my excitement for this figure is through the roof.

I had the previous MMS 185 Mk VII and it was awesome to me, but after experiencing die-cast figures, I thought "Oh man, they're getting better." My excitement is also through the roof, hurling towards the atmosphere.

I've seen some videos and agree, the XM Studios statue seems the best representation of the Mk VII, and I'm not even a statue collector!

I don’t own any iron man figures (any marvel in general) and was thinking about finally getting one. Would this be a good one and done? Was on the fence between this and the 85.

The new diecast figures from Hot Toys are really amazing. The Mark 7 is and will always be a classic. The 85 is also iconic considering it was Tony's final armor. The only issue you have is that the 7 will probably be sold out by the time the 85 releases. In the event you hold out and wait for final blogger pics of the 85 before making your final decision, the 7 may potentially have very high market prices.

You could order the 7 at retail to be safe, then sell it later on in used (or new) condition to finance the purchase of the 85, if you end up liking that better.
