I can't say that I don't believe it though. The announcement of a Joker film outside the DCEU actually gives me more reason to think that a Batman film that stands alone is something they're considering. It's like they don't have a clear direction for what they're doing and frankly I don't think they ever have.

I just can't give WB/DC any goodwill to think they're not somehow screwing things up. The manner in which they've handled the DCEU so far is such a sloppy, convoluted mess and it's ridiculous. It shouldn't be this hard but it's like they're making the dumbest decisions over and over. Eventually the DCEU is just going to fizzle out completely I feel like because there doesn't seem to be a clear direction for it. They're constantly making announcements and yet no progress seems to be happening on most of them. The films they've made thus far really haven't been that great, even Wonder Woman while better in comparison to what came before it is an average film for the superhero genre and I feel has been somewhat overrated by fans who wanted a good film and latched on hard to the first decent one. The universe building they've done so far hasn't been very well done and major characters are being handled in ways that most agree aren't the best.

There just seems to be new drama every few weeks with one of their projects and I can't just sit back and ignore it. There's clearly a problem behind the scenes and it doesn't seem to matter what talent they throw behind what they're making (there are a bunch of great actors and directors on these films) because without a sense of what it is they're actually doing things are going to continue to just flounder. It's honestly amazing how badly it seems like they've screwed things up.

I'm sure fans are going to rush to call me a DC hater or a Marvel fanboy but neither are true. I just continue to be utterly confused and frustrated with how these characters are being handled so poorly.

Everyone has their own opinion of course but I'd have to disagree on Wonder Woman. For me it is my favourite super hero movie since The Dark Knight. Judging by the favourable reviews and great box office I'm not alone in that.

Since the Dark Knight? Wow...

I loved Wonder Woman but I personally wouldn't put it next to the Dark Knight..lol

Since the Dark Knight, I didn't mean it was as good as or better than The Dark Knight. :lol

Well here's Matt reeves latest tweet:

As usual just a bunch of fake DCEU bashing that all the sites are reporting. Nothing to see here! Move along folks!

TDK is a great film, but I personally think it's a bit overrated.

I agree, I think it's absolutely great, but overrated a smidgen. I still think Begins is the best batman (and in my eyes comic book film) ever

Ah, so there we go. Like some of us guessed it will be part of the DCEU. Just not including anybody else in the DC Universe except for the Batman characters. Sounds just fine by me.

Personally, not sure what is the fuss about..
WW movie doesnt have any cameos....
MOS doesnt have cameos..
It's just that the movie will revolve around 1 character, that's all.
BvS and SS and JL are team up movies.. So cameos are expected..

Thank's for posting this, much appreciated. :clap

Pretty much what I thought. Stand alone in that it won't involve the non Batverse characters but still set in the same universe. More Batfleck to come after JL. :yess:

I agree about Batman Begins to, it's the best Super hero origin movie ever in my eyes.

These movie sites have to stop this click bait crap is getting ridculas . It was fairly obvious that is what he meant they just tired to spin it what a joke.

My sentiments as well. It's a really good movie, but I personally don't think it's the holy grail superhero film that many laud it to be. I even think it being the end all be all holy grail Batman film can still be questioned. I feel Ledger's fantastic performance as The Joker carried a good portion of the film, coupled with the hype around the film being that it released just coming off of his untimely passing and him having given a stellar performance in it, as mentioned.

With the way things are going for DC, I'd take overrated rather than shtyy *cough* BvS/MoS/SS.

That's fine. Totally up to you. :duff

Haha I already think the DCEU is fine.. Awesome actually. Save for suicide squad. That can burn in a fire. Other than HQ and Katana's designs. Hot toys Katana! Bring it on!

I agree. I still like it but of the Nolan films I personally have always liked Batman Begins the best. There's just something about it that I feel like neither sequel lived up to. I like the suit, I love the training sequences in the Himalayas with Ra's, seeing Bruce's development of the Batman, Scarecrow was cool to see even though I wish he'd have gotten more screen time, the overall tone and ambiance is cool. Just a great film that I feel gets overshadowed by The Dark Knight.

Wonder Woman is good don't get me wrong but I just don't think it's that good. I feel like it had a couple factors going for it. One that after three disappointing films it needed to be good or DC was going to be in an even bigger slump and compared to what came before it's obviously a lot better. The other thing I feel helped it is the fact that it's the first female led superhero film which there's nothing wrong with at all but I think people kind of got caught up in the hype train over that aspect personally. When I saw it I really felt like it was pretty average for the genre. Yeah Gadot is great and Pine is a good costar but in terms of story and the villains it's not a lot better than a lot of other superhero films and frankly I wouldn't even say it's the best this year. Logan was far better as a film and I had a lot more fun with Spider-Man: Homecoming. I'm really not trying to sell if short but I truly don't think it's as good as most have made it out to be.

Fair enough, nothing wrong if that's how you feel. Logan was very different, not sure it's fair to compare them. I haven't seen Homecoming, as previously stated I don't really care for yet another Spidey origin movie. Seen it all before, let him progress beyond high school please. As much as I love Batman I'd have little interest in an other origin movie for him also. Wonder Woman was at least original finally getting her own movie after 70 years.

Spider-Man: Homecoming isn't an origin movie. Peter is already Spidey in it. It also explores the aspect of him being a high school student much differently than the other versions. It's really almost a high school film that features Spider-Man.

But he still hasn't progressed beyond high school. Sorry, I just find that tedious and want to see something new. That is why I like the older Batman we have in the DCEU. The previous two big screen incarnations were very good but it was time to show the character at a different stage in his life.
