Hot Toys 1/6 Predator Expanded Universe Figure

I've been prayin' every day that HT's got Lost Hunter prototypes on the drawing board. If they can go and make a figure like this, then chances are they're working on the Hunters, too. Time will tell.

"The human female in Predator armour" is a huge surprise! Very interesting choice of figures. It looks to me like Hot Toys has "borrowed" from various Predator sources with this figure. There's an awful lot of Machiko Noguchi there, but there are also AvP and other Predator influences, like in the armour and weapons. It will be very interesting to see how this one is labeled. Too bad nobody seems to know what HT is calling her yet, but I don't suppose it'll be too long before someone spills it.

I'm still waiting on someone to get a picture of the tag sitting next to the figure.

Apparently she killed an Alien Queen, so the Predators allow her to roam the universe with them, on hunts. Hard to believe isn't it. Those Predators are so sleazy.

Don't forget that they only kept her around because it was Broken Tusk's dying wish. They humiliated and abused her at every shot, from what I remember of the comics.

I think I know who this character is... Hiroko Noguchi, the "Hollywoodized" version of Machiko from the original AVP script by Peter Biggs. Hence the fanboy-friendly costume - unlike Machiko's more solid armour - and caucasian look. (j/k)

One thing for sure... this is nothing from the AVP comics or films. Being VERY charitable, you could say it's a post-AVPR update of the concept behind Machiko, but any way you cut it, it's HT flexing their creative muscles (not a bad thing!). Pred-ettes are a common enough fan art theme that I can see why they expect to sell loads anyway, without needing to negotiate a new license. Just VERY surprising we are seeing this before the original Predator.

I probably will not be purchasing this one - there are loads of cool accessories, but something about the head and arms is just... wrong... plus there's something about the whole 'doll' thing here that is just a bit too Otaku for me. The shield, base, skulls and trophies look great for Predator conversions, though, so I may be ebaying them in due course.

Celtic, Wolf, P1, P2, and Chopper ALL died due to being arrogant and cocky.


And opinions aside, Predator is not better then Alien. Fact. You may like one more then the other...but its not better, not at all.

I like Hellboy more then LOTR- (all of 'em) but that doesnt make HB a better made movie eh?

Alien fans complain to no end of the weaponry a Predator has, and Wolf threw his off minus the wristblades. It was an actual fight, one on one, which ended in a stalemate.

Had Wolf had been able to use a plasmacaster, and just blown Chet's head clean off, I could only imagine the backlash.

i agree and thats why Wolf is my favorite Predator. he went in alone to clean up the mess against an unknown force. went through the city tracking down a continually growing army, and then during the climatic battle he throws down the advanced weapons to settle it with a true fight to the death...which unfortunately led to his own death.

Aliens dont fight fair.

I love both creatures, but the bias in AvP-R was insane. The Aliens put up NO fight whatsoever. Only the goofy Predalien did anything. He coulda killed Wolf 3 times, but he didnt.

That movie makes me mad. Very very mad. Had the Aliens FOUGHT back once in a while, and made the audience think Wolf could lose, then I'd like it better.

It's a flippin' sci-fi action movie! This isn't classic cinema or "European cinema" by any means. Yeah, it's a great movie...one of my favs. But, it could be successfully argued that if it wasn't for the brilliance of Winston's design and creation of the title character, this could be any run-of-the-mill sci-fi movie.

I never said Predator was a classic of european cinema that would be redicilous (For one thing it isn't even european). It is a classic in it's own genre wich is the sci-fi action movie genre. I dissagree with you on the notion that it is made like any run-of-the-mill sci-fi movie. It showed innovative camera-work (Mctiernan almost got fired for this) and is made far better than most films from the same genre.
