I dont think the HT Endoskeleton has the articulation to spread his legs apart (do the splits). If you look at the piston on his crotch, they dont allow that sort of movement. The articulation in the hips seems to be exactly the same as the 6" Mcfarlane Endoskeleton (which can only do the kicking articulation).

The Aoshima Endoskeletons hips have full range of motion. You can see the pistons on his crotch have the extra joint to move outwards. Much like the 6" and 18" Neca Endoskeleton.

Its hard to tell from the photos, since his waist is obscured in a lot of shots. That would be unfortunate if he was lacking that bit of articulation. The Aoshima is far from being able to do the splits, but there is enough for some pretty dynamic poses.

Yeah, my Neca 18" has full articulation but he won't friggin' stand up. Maybe if he had the heft of Aoshima's die-cast.

I wouldn't expect a whole lot of articulation on this piece, guys. Robo was very limited but all sig posing was there for him...

Not anticipating splits poses either. I don't remember the Endo in any gymnastic competitions... :D as long as we can do cool stuff with his head, twist his torso and he can hold different walking poses, I'll be happy. :D

I really can't complain about HT endo's 52 points of articulations. I guess its fingers gonna be moveable. :chew

I certainly hope so because I have to say I'm a little put off by how much they are charging for these. Sometimes BBTS orders them directly from Japan and the overseas shipping usually inflates the price because I was expecting these to be about the same as the T-800 and Kyle Reese (both of which Amoktime had for $99) or at least as much as RoboCop at a maximum of $129.99 but I have a feeling HT is charging more for this one wholesale because they know it will sell which is just gonna chap my a$$ because I wanted to army-build with this one. There's no way I'm gonna pay $160-$180 for this. That's more than I could have gotten the Aoshima die-cast for.

I think the price reflects how much work they had to put in tooling the body. ED-209 is about $195 and that's with Sideshow's lower import price. ED may be bigger and more bulky, but this will be heavy if it is cast aluminum, and there's more assembly of it's pieces. I think this will arrive fully assembled since Hot Toys's Terminator figures aren't kits like all the other movie figures (no conflict about the scale license).

In my opinion, I don't expect Sideshow to carry this one since it's Terminator 1, so I would place a preorder for this through other stores (what I plan to do once it hits the shelves). If and when Sideshow carries this Endo, it'll have to be repackaged as Terminator 2 and I feel that will be some time after Hot Toys has finished releasing their initial T-1 version.
It's possible Sideshow and Hot Toys is currently working together behind the scenes to release both a T-1 & T-2 simultaneously, but Hot Toys would make more money releasing one and then the other later on after people have the first one in their hands, the way they did with those Robocop figures.

It wouldn't matter if the Terminator from 1, 2 or 3. Sideshows license if for THEM to produce and sell T2 figures. Has nothing to do with them selling someone else's product.

Exactly, SSC has a US distribution agreement with HT, they are not producing the figure.

If that's the case, How come Sideshow didn't import the Superman Returns, Batman Begins, Terminator 1 and Rocky figures? Or the Medicom Jack Sparrow, Rocketeer, Bruce Lee, and Jack Bauer 24 figures?
And why is it that only Gentle Giant can release the Medicom Disney import figures here in the States?

I believe Sideshow has to have the license in order to import the item just the same as Gentle Giant.

Hopefully someone at Sideshow can shed some light on this?

I agree. I have been waiting for over a year for Medicom Jack Bauer, HT Terminator and Rocky figures and it seems like these hot licenses are being ignored by Sideshow. Perhaps they don't want Hot Toys and Medicom to steal their thunder or take sales away from their products. I buy from all 3 so to have one centralized website to make all of my pre-orders and purchases from at reasonable prices is a big deal to me. I have held off on pre-ordering several of Hot Toys upcoming products in hopes for Sideshow to distribute them for less but now it seems unlikely they will so I may be forced to buy from a secondary reseller or ebay.

Sideshow doesn't have the license to produce many if not all of the Electric Tiki characters but they distribute those. They don't have the license to produce sixth scale Marvel figures or Aliens figures or Robocop figures or Rambo figures and many many more, yet they distribute those through Medicom and Hot Toys.

Besides this Endo is not a T1 figure anyway, the T1 endo had a different chest plate and never carried a gun in the picture as I recall and the T1 endo had ball toes so SSC could still call this a T2 or T3 Endo and distribute it...

I'm guessing any US distribution deal HT or Medicom does for a particular figure is based on distribution territory rights or a previously existing deal with other partners participating in the financing of a particular figure... whether its gentle giant or Master Replicas (as it was for Sparrow). In effect I think SSC gets invited to participate in distribution deals on a line by line or fig by fig basis. (e.g. blister exclusive, mail order exclusive, etc.)

The T1 endo never had the chrome mini-gun (that was T3) or the phased plasma rifle in the forty watt range (that was T2) or the .45 longslide with laser sighting (that was flesh-covered Arnold). I think they are just trying to create an amalgam of an idealized endo from all 3 movies to make it more marketable.

btw - Has anybody else ever thought that a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range sounds rather weak? I mean 40 watts! Most everyday lightbulbs have more voltage than that! :lol

I've always thought that... but it does sound cool! :monkey5

Also, you would have thought that the 80's Terminator would have known that that gun shop wouldn't have a futuristic gun!

He might as well asked him for a Hunter-Killer as well! :lol

PsychoCenobite :monkey5

"Hey, just what you see pal."

Never hurts to ask :lol

The silver plasma gun is just the minigun with a different barrel.

Thanks for the heads up, Dave. I'm gonna wait a little longer to see if anyone else is distributing these here in the States... :monkey1
