This is exactly what I have been saying. I think we'll see a landspeeder, Tan-Tans, speederbikes and the like. That stuff is much more practical from a production and shipping standpoint.

Anything bigger will most likely be 1/12 scale.

I should care about what they're making as a promo item and extrapolate that out into some fantastic notion that they're going to make a full range of 1/6 vehicles? Logic, not even once. If you seriously think you'll ever see a production run of a 1/6 Falcon, you're kidding yourself. I highly doubt you'll even get a 1/6 X-Wing. I highly doubt you'll get a TIE.

I never said they won't produce 1/6 vehicles, even though I would consider it unlikely. You insist on trying to construct this argument. All I (and many others) have said is that a plaque, or a piece of cardboard saying "Sixth Scale Collectable", or even a one off promo item is no guarantee they will make... anything. Even a prototype is no guarantee.

How much effort and "valuable" manpower do you think it takes to print out a piece of cardboard? An extra piece, mind you, given that I'm sure they have the exact same text on a number of items in their display.

Sounds to me like you're desperately trying to convince yourself they'll make them, and are willing to grasp any straw and ignore reality in order to "know" they will.

Man don't use LOGIC. Some people can't comprehend it ;)

Anyone who seriously thinks a 1/6 Millennium Falcon will even get produced for purchase is seriously deluded.

But don't forget Hot Toys also has the 1/4 scale license. So that's a possibility. Go big or go home. :lol

The thing is this Tie can be broken down into a smaller package than the Bat. If they design the wings to come apart into 4 pieces it would be able to fit flat into a box that could be shipped by UPS. The Cockpit would take up the most space. I don't know if the cockpit can be split in half to make a smaller package but the over package would be smaller than the Bat ever could be packaged.

The major problem is Hot Toys like to make their vehicles flimsy. They charge a lot but make the vehicles out of cheap weak plastic. It would not the good if they make these for sale and the wings start sagging after a few months.

Why didn't SSC advertise the TIE fighter as "be available through Sideshow Collectibles for Star Wars fans" as they did with the Falcon Cockpit?

Would anyone be against them just releasing the cockpit alone without the wings. For me the whole appeal of a 1/6 vehicle is getting the figure inside of it, giving it an environment to interact with. And then later do the full ship in 1/12. That seems much more feasible.

Go for it!

Is that the Sideshow version? Looks crap. Pilot looks like a hamster. No wonder they lost the SW license.

Check out the new Star Wars panel behind the scenes clip. In particular at 24secs. Is that awesome or what ! Id be happy with any scale just now. The hype is working just fine on me !!! :)

A 1:6 TIE cockpit with no wings is the worst of all worlds, IMO. No offense, Centro, but it's a horrible idea, lol.

Don't get why so many people are against 1:12. I think it would look great with the figures and is a more practical size while still being quite large. Also means we could display hopefully two or three ships. I'd love a 1:12 TIE and Slave 1.

Beyond that, hope the convo about whether HT will produce these or not dies down soon. We'll see what actually goes up for order (if anything) in the next 12 months and until then debating it is pointless. Even if they do make a 1:6 TIE (which I doubt), it doesn't mean we'll get an X-Wing or doggone Millenium Falcon. Those ships are retardedly big and it's annoying to even read one person banging on and on that they're going into production. Seriously, just ST*U about it until we see a pre-order. ;)

Really the only thing I don't like about 1/12 is that the figures HT made for The Bat look like ****, not at all display worthy. The smaller figures need to match the quality of the model. And I do want a figure to be able to sit inside and point at all the buttons, thats important. Because scale models of Tie fighters and X-wings already exist elsewhere, it needs to be more intricate to distinguish itself from what other companies offer

If it was 1:12 I would just go with the other studio scale options that would be more accurate which are only just a bit smaller. The wow factor on this is only partly the detail, and mostly the hugeness of it.

The one factor that I just thought of is that they may have to got 1/6 or not at all. I don't think they have the license to make it in 1/12 scale.

I would like it to be 1/12 scale if it is made. Less space. Of course the 1/12 scale bat has not been released yet. If it looks good and the figures look good, then I would be more in favor of it.

The wings are not the problem. The wings can be designed to come apart and be packed flat. The cockpit would actually present more of a packaging problem.

The wings pose a HUGE shipping issue or a MAJOR durability issue. One piece wing requires freight shipping, multiplication wing has to be extremely durable and there isn't a lot of thickness available to create a strong attachment point. Imagine you paid 2kish for this and after a few years the wings start to warp and the connections are not visible or no longer stay together as well. I would personally be VERY concerned if the wings came in multiple pieces.

Got a solution: start collecting 1/12 scale figures. A NEW MARKET! You'd have twice the room, more even as you could lower your detolf shelves... and you could collect vehicles!

Let's do it! Let's all make the move to 1/12 scale action figures! YEAH!.... oh wait..... there are no clothed 1/12 scale action figures yet. Booooo!
