okay, I've found what is in my eyes the "wrong way" of closing the cockpit:

is it that what you mean? I hope not, because that just looks off and stupid

and if you guys are talking about the "gap" between the body and the cockpitdoor, than there is nothing you can do about that, since I have seen it on EVERY picture out there of this piece

A lot of bird sh@t and flies he'll get with that huge gap. Very drafty indeed!

Just got off taking pics. Here ya go. In the instruction sheet this is the wrong way of closing the cockpit door. Having the windshield more vertical does make the tumbler look less aerodynamic and more tank-like, but I did think this was how it appeared in the film. Can't be sure off-hand though...

But this way the tabs on the sides locking the doors are very loose, as they can't be fully pushed in.

aha very interesting!

I guess it is a matter of choise and depending on the way you display it, because while there seems to be a gap, you have to watch closely.

thx for the clarification, maybe IF Joe sends it soon :), I can find a way to do a mod :)

Gents, take a look at the full scale tumbler used in the movie here at this website:

There are some nice angles on the front.

Yeah, thats how it should look, as you can see from the Tumbler on my desktop.

My tumbler is in my country !!! in a few days will be here in my hands :chew

The long wait is ending :banana

Just expect this.....Unless you are Shaun (I think..... but too many pages to track back, Did I mention I tried to read the thread from the beginning and gave up before I reached page 100....) everyone else is facing one and the same hurdle.
Take it out and play and pose and pictures and......
.....put it back into the box
.....and take it out
.....and put it back :)

Thanks for the references! I think the closing the cockpit door this way looks pretty good.

Actually after referencing the movie still, the rake of the windshield could be sharper, so I pushed the top of the windshield down to get a sharper rake (which lets me close the tabs at the side too), at the expense of having a bigger gap at the bottom. I think I'll settle for this for now. Will take pics later.

Does anyone know a reputable source for these for less than $449 shipped in the US?
