WOW!

Just amazing! Would be even mote amazing to see that done to a HT tumbler though!

Yeah, but while it is more accurate and detailed, it comes at the cost of durability. One wrong move and the fragile HT Tumbler could be --in the words of the Joker-- in one place, or several.

Now if the HT body could be used to make a mold, for a more durable RC-ready shell...and accurate replacement wheels+tires...that would be schweet.

Damn, just got an idea for the 1989 HT. I've got a few of the RichMan's Toys 1/10 scale ones, but a modded (or molded) from a HT 1/6 will be the ultimate RC Batmobile.

Impresive, I love how you recreated scenes from the movie with your Tumbler :D

Here you go, mate. You did really good work here. How did you do the working flaps?

Thanks for that! I used two micro servos (one reversed) and music wire for the linkage. I can control them manually or flip a switch and they will automatically move down when accelerating and flip up when braking.

Exactly! I wanted to do an HT conversion very badly but the Tyco version is a single-piece, molded nylon shell that was designed to be played with by kids so it is very tough and durable and will survive a crash. Also, the Tyco had two other advantages for this project and that was the hollow shell design that allowed plenty of room for the electronics and also it already had a rear drivetrain and motor that would have had to be custom fabricated for an HT conversion. And make that three advantages if you count the cost of a replacing the body in the event of a crash.:)

Simply amazing! Thanks for sharing your work and thanks to Dark Magic for posting the video. Looks like there was a camera mount for the on board shots, the entire video is done so professionally, just loving all the various angles and the editing was superb.

I just put my modded RC Batman Tumbler up for sale in eBay. Because of my noob status it won't let me post the link here but just search eBay for 1/6 Batman Tumbler and it should show up. I enjoyed building it but have since moved on to some other projects that need financing and thought a big Batman fan might enjoy it. I'm just trying to recoup my costs. Thanks!

good luck on the sale. That tumbler would be fun to have

DarkMagic's tumbler mod just sold me on the Tyco. It's a bit chunky, but damn that was cool. I just bought a a 1/6 Tyco Tumbler off the bay 15 minutes ago. I'll have some modding questions for you soon DM.

Just to be clear...I was NOT the one who modded the Tumbler. That was replayreb. :)

Thank you. Like a lot of my projects once they are completed I always seem to move on to another challenge. Drives my wife crazy because I will never get the money back I put into it much less all the time and energy but I had a vision of a kick-*** RC Tumbler that would run over anything so I decided to see it through.

replayreb - you are one talented guy! Amazing that you even took time to wire the spoilers in the back. If some people put out a grand for HT's tumbler, yours is easily worth that.

I have the tyco tumbler and I am fairly happy with it for the low price of 100 that I paid for it. I'm going to read your thread about how you made it and hope to learn more from it. I've always wanted to build my own RC unit but really have no experience or knowledge on how or even where to start.

Thanks for sharing.

sooo, does anyone think Hot toys will re release the bat pod for TDKR? Maybe a Hot Toys Catwoman with Bat-pod like the Iron Man Mark IV with Gantry release?
