Did anyone notice what Tin had said about that new Medicom fig? 3 - 4 inches, thats heck of a lot. Imagine what TDK will be like

Hey, Promethus -

The Medicom Bats is definitely small compared to the HT bats figures.

I don't have any of the HT, but my office mate has one and the HT is about 3/4 inch taller.

Not sure about Joker or Dent, though.

Tin

Hi guys, long time reader, first time poster. HT TDK figures got me back to 1/6 scale collecting (freakin' expensive hobby). Anyway, earlier this week I received my TDK suit batman, but earlier today, I finally received my long-awaited original suit batman (looked everywhere, finally found it on ebay for 300sumthin' USD, which is 500 sumthin' AUD for me....EXPENSIVE).
There's a problem with it though, his left knee feels loose, if I bend it, it won't stay bent; his right knee is fine though, it stays bent when....well bent. Anyone have this problem with their original suit batman?
O and since this is a pic thread here's a pic of my batmen, bad quality I know (iPhone), and I'm no photographer.

This forum is awesome btw.

Does HT have plans to make more of these OC Batman's? I know I've heard they're making more V1 Jokers, but I was wondering about these?

its rare but it happens. Usually HT's base body is pretty sturdy, but I have read 1 or 2 accounts of loose or broken knee on various forums. to fix that you probably need to get a HT TT body and strip your batman and swap the body. Though I did read some where the batman base body is different than regular TT body, so perhaps you should just try to get a left leg. welcome back to this expensive hobby.

Try not to play and do various poses that much. As these are quite delicate. Just pose them in the normal standing posture and these should last for quite a while.

I've heard on occasions where the rubber sticks to the other part of the costumes rubber, because of the way the fig was postured. If left for a long period of time.

Also try not to let those hook stands touch anywhere near the rubber suit, as these will leave a mark if left for a long time. Thought I should let you know a few pointers, since these are becoming quite rare and pricy.

They aren't making V1 joker no more. That's why it says on the HT newsletter that for those who missed out on the first two jokers, there is still a chance for them to get the next version of joker.

I doubt that HT is making anymore of these, that's why the prices soared up almost double, just in a matter of a month's time. These were still going for $200ish last month. And now they are already $400 on the bay.

Thanks for all the pointers, I'm scared to even touch him now.

Yep certainly sounds like a broken knee, should be an easy fix but you'll need a new knee joint. Just pull the boot off, it's the cup and ball design so theres no foot. you may even find the leg comes straight out, but the friction and the grip of the rubber is probably whats holding it in place.
If you're lucky the break will be at the bottom of the knee/top of the shin so all you need are some needle nose pliers to pull the broken knee joint out. Then just slip a new shin with a new knee attached and the jobs done.
If the break is at the top of the knee it'll be more fiddlesome, you will need to roll the rubber suit leg up as high as you can then use someyhing like a small cup hook to screw gently into the broken post, you should then be able to get enough grip to pull it out, then replace as described above.
Good luck!

Thx again for the advice on fixing the knee, but I don't think I'll be trying anything risky with this figure, it's too expensive; plus he's still level when standing in place, and the suit does a nice job of holding the leg together. O and I think it's broken on the upper knee.

Hmmm...makes me want to hang on to my figures all the more now. Thanks for the info!

guys
i called HT and they said they will be doing a batch when they release the tumbler to supplement that collection process
at least that is what the girl on the other side said so barring some agressive late collectors who are pounding ebay and driving prices to 400$
I would still hang on to the cash

My 5C worth on this

That makes sense. I had suggested before that they might do a run with the Tumbler, smart move by HT.

Ok, forget about Batman. Do you have more information about the GIRL? How cool would it be to have a girlfriend working for Hot Toys... :naughty:wacky:angelsmil

iShe was the customer service rep not my girl friend
it will be the same thing.

Funny how ebay works we got one guy bidding at 406$ and then there are four guys who list the damn figure for a starting bid of 150-190 and are hopefully going to get ......

That is why my motto is buy three, one to open and two for recycling on ebay and use that money to buy new stuff

always works:naughty

:banghead:mad:the hot toys iron man mark III
1-The flaps depending on your luck are flappy i.e loose
2-The arm missle launcer to fragile to dink with
3-the leg back panel one opens at 90 degrees the other opens at higher than 90 degrees
4-the lower calf panels that open sideways on the outer side of the calf if you try to open feels like it has a spring and will AUTO CLOSE of flap back
5-looking closely at the calf top panel it is the factory worker goof up shows you a QC oversight right there

Solution: buy more than one and open and inspect then open the fauklty ones for your display and abuse pleasure to collect dust
the rest go in collection:naughty
