Thanks to a forum member I have a HT TDK OC batman on the way for a fair price :rock

AVOID LIQUID SILICONE!!! This includes Armor-All "protectant", which is silicone based.

Silicone will accelerate the deterioration of rubber, causing cracking and dryness quicker than if it is left alone.

If you really want to treat it, try something non-silicone based like 303 Aerospace or similar. I'm still on the fence about trying 303 on mine since they have now become so rare.

303 aerospace? Is it any good?

True, I will just keep it the way it is until someone has finally confirmed on what solution to condition the rubber suit.

It is one of the best protectants out there. I use it for automotive purposes, but I haven't tried it on the HT rubber yet.

That would be the smart thing to do.

i dont understand why it would even need conditioning? i'd be leaving it the hell alone. just a soft 100 percent cotton rag, and maybe a tad of water to clean it, but i wouldnt try to 'condition' any of the rubber. It's not going to absorb any of it, and if it does, it will hold it over time, which would be bad, and if it doesnt, it'll get greasy and tacky.

It need to be condition because rubber tend to break or melt over a period of time.

Another pic, to show the size and drape of the new cape:

And with less light

Its not permanent since I'll be using this cape for my TDK Costume Batman when he gets here tomorrow, but I should be able to pull of the look without removing the original cape on this one.

I recommend it. Now that I have the new cape I hate the old one. The old one is just too straight and doesn't wrinkle realistically, the new one is perfect.

Thats wild!

It's scary how it reminds me of soft long curtains. It falls just like them. What I really want to see first is not only the long cape but somebody that has gotten one made to the same size as the short cape. Just to see how much better it falls.

I think Buddylee did make some like that for a few people. Maybe they'll post some pics.

I tried pulling the clasps out, but to no avail because I was scared of breaking them. I think that if I was able to get the neck post out I would be able to use a screwdriver or something to push the pins out, but the neck post is a pain in the ass to detach. Has anybody got some tips for that? I don't want to use a hair dryer because I'm scared of melting the rubber.

I'm sorry but I'm just not feeling those customs capes. They kinda remind me of those batman in comic books... Not nolan's movie version batman.
I also like the cape the way it is. You can't wrap it completely around the front of him like a blanket or anything, but I wouldn't like it if it were as thin and long as some of these customs. To each their own, though. One of the cool things about these figures is that there is room to do the kinds of customizations that you want.

I think that's the reason I like mine. I always preferred the comics look to the cape. I like the look of the movie suits, but to me it isn't batman without a great cape to give him a great silhouette.

I prefer the long flowing cape as well. I love how dramatic it looks.
