I wonder how this suit will stand up during the hot summers ahead. More so for people in America.

I don't mean direct sunlight, the extreme hot ambient heat. Or will folks air condition keep this under control? Saying that I heard that last years summer peoples air conditioning was really struggling to keep their houses cool.

Yeah, I wonder how it will hold up in Singapore as well......we have summer all yr long.

I've been wondering this as well. I don't have an air conditioner in my room and it was really hot last year. I hope to have an AC unit installed by summer though. These released around July and it was hot through November, so did anybody who had it around then have any problems?

This is now the only figure I own where I have two - one to display one boxed, simply because it's so amazing, and because I don't trust the rubber. However, in some ways the (possible) fragility of the figure is a bonus - if, like me, you think it has a limited lifespan you may as well just keep it out, loose, and play with it, pose it etc, getting as much enjoyment as you can before the suit disintegrates.

I boxed them back up start of last month, put thin polythene behind the back of the gauntlets, anything that was plastic so it wouldn't get scraped or develop shiny parts, neck, arms so no rubber would stick to the plastic base. Plus most of the cape is protecting the suit from this as well.

The good thing is we don't suffer much heat in the UK, but there has been spells where it's been so extreme for a week or two or broken up in certain weeks.

I don't have air conditioning either, but I can easily dig out some ice packs and the fan for a room. Though the good thing is where my fig boxes are it's in a north facing room that never gets any strong heat or any sunlight which is a bonus.

I doubt very much even your pristine boxed up fig will last a long time, as by looking at the rubber suit with it being so thin. Over the years with strong ambient heat then cold days it'll eventually lose it's goodness. As the material dries out and becomes brittle. I had this same thing happen to one of my watch straps. It was never in any sunlight, I never worn it for years. The strap was always laid out flat. Decided to wear it one day and as soon as the strap started to bend around my wrist, it cracked. But it's easy to get a new strap(s), not so much for a new suit. Plus that was a much thicker rubber for the wrist strap.

I always thought of using some sort of leather type feeder/restorer/liquid treater, but that was another thing that put me off doing that with these suits. I don't even know what the long/short term effects that could have on them, or worse it could eat into the rubber. Or worse yet, start going all gooey. Seems to be a catch 22.

I have done the exact same thing, I have an extra of this and the Dark Knight suit Batman for this exact reason.

Plus when I get the Batpod and Tumbler, the figures are gonna get tore up from all the posing and in and out of the vehicles :).

This may be a naive question, but my Batman's suit came with light scuffs on its chest, and I was wondering if there was a way of removing them or making them less noticable.

Well he seems to be managing the Australian heat ok, although I did just have to adjust the pants - it was almost as if the heat had loosened the rubber a little and they'd slipped down his legs slightly. The knee guards were definitely lower than his knees.

As for how long the suit will last - I think a lot of it depends on the material used. Silicone, for example, has a shelf like of 30+ years. Leather is a natural, porous material, very different to rubber. I'd stay far away from oils designed to keep leather supple.

How many of you have tried 303 Aerospace protectant on the suit? For those who don't know, 303 Aerospace is typically available at marine outfitters or from auto detailing shops and it is used in aviation/marine/automotive applications to protect all types of rubber/vinyl/plastic parts. It dries to a nice semi-gloss finish and it doesn't leave a greasy residue. It is also formulated differently than something like Armor All, which is silicone-based. I use this stuff on my vehicles and it is outstanding.

Problem with this suit rubber is it appears to have a fragile surface texture, meaning you would have to use an extremely soft/lint free cloth to apply such a protectant.

Have you tried it on the suit?

I'd like to. I might try a test on the parts of his arms that are hidden by the gauntlets. Another benefit in this application is that 303 is anti-static, so it should help with dust removal.

I've heard references to Armor All being used, but that is a silicone based product which will actually speed deterioration of the rubber.

Guys, I have found someone who is offering to sell a loose HT TKD Batman OC version 2. He said the figure has been on display and in great condition. How much should I offer him? Your advice is much appriciated.

Tell him you would like some good pictures and verify that the rubber isn't damaged or significantly scuffed.

I would offer retail for it or slightly higher if it truly is in like-new condition. BBTS apparently has this version available for pre-order for $175, higher than the original issue price but not absurd. It is a great figure.

It ultimately depends on how much you want it, but they are still available in decent numbers so I wouldn't go too crazy with your offer.

Yeah, I have asked for pics. I may offer $110 dlvd. I don't think it's high or low. First I need to make sure there are absolutely no damage or else no deal.

I hope it's available in my country. If I find one, I'm originally planning to test it on the underside/heels of the boots, but I forgot the gauntlet area is a good place too. Thanx for pointing that out. I'm also planning to test other rubber protectants on the suit and leave it for several months I think.

This is odd. I purchased this from Toys2 on Sunday and it was listed on my card as a pending transaction, now today it is not there and the money was never taken from my card. I've never purchased anything from Toys2 before, is this normal?

I've been looking for this for a few weeks and no luck. Anyone knows where to buy this Batman Original Costume?
