Triad just put a new base up for pre-order. It looks pretty sweet.

wow that an awsome base!! how much does it cost?

It's $80, 15" high, bigger than Sideshow's and costs less, too. Considering what Sideshow's been asking for polystone pieces that end up being hollow, this seems like a bargain to me.

Da**! That does look pretty great. So who's ordered from them and what can we expect? Delays? Good C/S? Etc.

Also, anyone wait on a piece from them to see what it might look like once it's out and what did you pay compared to the preorder?

looks very good...love those shots..

Thanks 'Clex! Might have to take some more if I get this base to go with him.

I know Im totally being ____ but isnt the Pantheon in Italy? Shouldnt it be the Parthenon? If it is the Pantheon it would be odd having a Spartan displayed with an Italian structure.

It would be even odder for a Spartan since it looks like a modern ruin of an ancient temple.
It's not the Parthenon either, it's way too small; It's just a fictional environment.
Interesting for Lara Croft or Indy, maybe a WWII soldier, but not an ancient Greek imo.

Along with my T-800 I just got Leonidas tonight and I'm blown away by how cool this figure is!
It is a bit daunting to handle at first, not really knowing how far the articulation moves, but it looks magnificent.
Very happy I decided to jump on the opportunity to get one.
Frigging epic!

That picture is a production sample, so first quarter 2011 is a pretty safe bet. Final product should look near identical to the pics.

Pantheon is in Rome, Parthenon is in Greece. Both have big columns that look just like this base. I doubt it's actually based on the real Pantheon, it just gives a feel of it. You gotta call it something and "Cool Ass Roman Base" while technically true, takes too long to say.

That's how I felt too when I got him. Out of the 3 rubber bodied HT's I have (Leo, Hellboy II, and Dutch) he's by far the best one articulation wise. It might have just been luck of the draw for the one I got but the body bends and moves a lot better than the others.

He displays amazingly doesn't he? Every time I walk by my case that he's in I have to stop and look.

Congrats on the purchases!

The Pantheon is is pretty good nick, so this diorama is likely supposed to be The Parthenon. Plus the Parthenon is an example of Doric architecture, while the Pantheon is Corinthian. The Pantheon's columns are smooth, not fluted. This is not picky, this is basic history and Triad should've cared about getting this right. And yeah, as has been pointed out... a Spartan hanging out in the ruins of the Parthenon? Pass.

Thanks dude!
I'm really digging this figure.

BTW, has anybody tried unsewing the complicated knot in the cape? It's such a pain to always have to pop off the head in order to take the cape off...

I just got him as well :D

He looks mighty fine! Anyways I heard you got to wash the cape first so that it won't leak on the rubber bod? Anyone can confirm this? Or any other ideas?

I've had him displayed since he was released until now, no stains. Some red fluff does stick to the rubber body, but its removable with tape.

I washed the cape a with cold water, and rinsed it with perwoll a couple of times. Funny thing is that when I used the perwoll, the color did bleed quite a bit.

The red fluff bits are gone now, I hope it won't stain anymore.
