If pants is all that's keeping you from ordering this just get a pair of 18" doll pants and cut them up. That's what I'm done by. Sold my original to fund this and got several pairs of purple pants khakis and jeans.

I'm still trying to decide between the regular Hulk and the Hulk Deluxe. The Hulk smash pose is particularly tempting, but so is the far cheaper price of the regular Hulk.

How much is the regular Hulk? I thought his value dropped back to around retail? Has it dropped further?

I'm talking about the AoU Hulk (what I called the regular one) and the AoU Hulk Deluxe that comes with the interchangeable torso, which are $275 and $375, respectively. The two Hulk figures that are still on pre-order.

Still want a Hulk but not sure if I'd rather get this version or track down an original. I think this Hulk looks better but I like the ripped pants as opposed to the ones he had in Age of Ultron.
You can always get this Hulk and find the other pants in the secondary. The original Hulk has issues with the black underpants staining the figure.

It matters if you're gonna be using the Hulk smash pose a lot or if having the ability to switch between the two bodies are worth the extra $$$ to you.

And honestly I doubt I'd ever use the smash torso. It looks great but not something I need

It would not fit with my display. All the other my figures have a neutral expression, so hulk roaring with his arms up ready to smash something would look out of place.

I like that the regular comes with the open mouth roaring sculpt because I like that one more. I'm hoping someone will release custom purple ripped pants to slap on this guy, or I might just wait and hope he goes back to them with a 3rd version. No rush to have Hulk in the collection at the moment. How bad is the staining on him? Can people just remove the black underwear and put the purple pants on?

I'd say go with the best one you can afford. Even if you don't use the deluxe parts it should hold its value a little better and has far more "part out" value. If it's more about cost get the cheap one.

Realistically, I could afford either of them, but the more I really think about it, the more I realize I'm not a big enough fan of the Hulk to justify the price of the deluxe version.

The main reason I went with the deluxe version was for the normal head sculpt. I don't know why that wasn't included with the regular edition and then have the roaring HS with the deluxe in the first place.:dunno

It's marketing. More incentive to buy the higher prices release. It's smart business.

Amen on this... exact same reason I bought the deluxe. Will be cool to have the Hulk Smash option once Hulkbuster gets here though... just in case!

I wasn't that big fan of the Hulk, either, but last year during Spook I bought the Hulk and Banner set at a really good price (too good to pass up). When they got to my place and I opened them up, I was blown away with the size and presence. I couldn't believe the set went on sale in the first place. So, when this came out, I went for the deluxe. I just think if I either didn't get it at all or went with just the regular edition, I would totally regret it. And like someone else said, if you get the deluxe, you can always sell the parts you don't want.

i can understand the excitement but I think you lost perspective on what made it a great buy, the sales price (yes hulk is epic but a cheaper hulk is more epic)
I used to buy hot toys full retail, but situations like yours make me realize I can get the same set cheaper, with patience
Grats on the good buy
