I think it was a massive missed opportunity that Hot Toys didn't release a 1/6 Biker Scout and Speeder Bike for the Return of the Jedi 30th Anniversary last year. While I love the SS PF Speeder Bike, I wish there was some way of having the Biker Scout holding both handles and being stooped down more.

Can you imagine how perfect a Hot Toys Biker Scout and Speeder Bike would be?!!!

If it makes the OP feel any better, there is a HT DX EP3 Anakin thread - complete with NO pics, but plenty of speculative discussion. :lol

I can't believe with a line like Star Wars and the amount of characters they only made 1, yet iron man has like 400 different versions

After being away from star wars for about 15 years ive got back into it big time, problem is i havent missed much regards modern develpments. Just last week i got a speeder and r2 from the 1990s or so, how sad is that? I expected to be spoilt for choice with such a legendary franchise. Now to join the hottoys queue and wait....:-S

I have a feeling that it is not Hot Toys but Disney that has stalled another release

That us true.... However they obviously are no stranger to licensing disney since they are doing / have done the Lone Ranger, Marvel, POTC and Maleficent. I just keep telling myself that it's Iron Man's fault.

How come no one ever checks the facts on this stuff?

Hasbro. Their agreement, which is exclusive, runs through 2020. Here's the release for the 2018 extension https://www.thefreelibrary.com/Hasbro+and+Lucas+Extend+Star+Wars+License+Through+2018.-a097056615 And more recently renewed to 2020 (full press release): https://investor.hasbro.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=779213

The agreement with Lucas Licensing Ltd., continues to give Hasbro exclusive worldwide rights to core action figures, vehicles and games, electronic hand-held games, die cast vehicles and creative play products.

Here's Sideshow's press-release from 2005 when they announced a partnership with Hasbro to produce 1/6 scale figures. They also have licensing agreements directly with Lucasfilm for non-toy collectibles.

And here's the announcement when Sideshow let Hot Toys join the party, which also includes Indiana Jones, DC and Marvel and others (likely GI Joe).

Based on comments from the Hot Toys owner Howard, some people speculate they want to go around Sideshow directly to Hasbro. I have my doubts that will get anywhere. I can't imagine that Hot Toys relationship with Sideshow is anything but good at the very least, so I suspect the lack of Star Wars releases from Hot Toys is due to something else entirely besides licensing.

Hot Toys will do the new Star Wars films when they hit and every 2nd figure they do will be a 'retro-release' on a Star Wars classic character.

I just made that up but it sounds good to me.:lol

Yes, someone needs to make a good Stormtrooper, and soon. Anybody really. Even though my personal Stormtrooper/Sandtrooper window is closing (I have seven sandtroopers and four Stormtroopers now) I guess I would have room for at least one more.
