WOW, for me, this could be the coolest announcement of the year. I don't own any HT at all, never really paid attention to them. But, I have stated before, if they ever did a Batman Returns Catwoman, I would own my first Hot Toys!! :clap

While I would definitely think I want the 1/4, it'll all depend which looks better.

I have a question though (a Hot Toys newbie here), what does DX mean? I've seen that referenced a lot throughout this thread.

The look I really preferred is the look in the original poster that never came true in the film; complete with cigarette holder, monocle and in a very monochromatic style. I thought it was very striking.

They just combines all of his looks into one for that poster. Hot Toys should EASILY be able to give us everything Penguin should come with as far as accessories and clothing goes.

Can't wait to see those umbrella weapons. Blade, hypno, machine gun, etc. It'll be epic. I think he'll sell well based on the fact that he's another rogue gallery villain that collectors can put on their shelves.

So far we have,

- 2 different Jokers
- Two-Face
- Scarecrow
- Catwoman
- Penguin

And most likely,

- Bane
- New Catwoman

That's pretty good for 1/6 scale and certainly beats the amount of villains that have been done in other Hot Toys lines.

its a mistake... more labor and production costs, just confusing to collectors... i fear for quality control.'

This damn 12 inch collecting has gotten insanely out of hand for me. Hot Toys thinks im going to buy it at 1/4 scale too?? They could clone Christian Bale and make him a quarter scale and i still wouldn't give a crap.

Too big and too expensive. HT fail imo.

I'm interested in 1/4, sounds exciting. I see what they can accomplish in 1/6, imagine 1/4?!? :horror

Too big and too expensive doesn't automatically mean fail for me :dunno

If I can't afford it, then oh well, but not a fail.

Completely agree Ray

1/4 is just cheap personal hate for EB

See above :lol

DX pretty much stands for deluxe.
And to spot the difference between a regular MMS (Movie Masterpiece Series) to a DX (Deluxe) is that in DX figures, they include a PERS (Parallel eye rolling system) where you can move the eyes.

DX figures usually also come with nicer packaging as well.

Burton and Nolan villains don't mix :nono

But I see your point :lol

I feel sorry for WGPs Penguin and Catwoman projects - I think their Penguin is going to be HARD to beat, even for HT, but based on this, I wonder how many people will go through with their orders :(

If you were smart you would stay away. Trust me it will not end after you get these three!!!

Last year I had some extra cash and thought I purchase my first HT...Berserker. That was seven figures ago!!!!

It's the RED PILL (Stay Away) or BLUE PILL (Welcome) for you.

Completely agree Ray

it really is quite obvious isn't it! Like... the market just can't handle it... they don't need to monopolize on everything.

It's just too much. I spend too much money have way too much crap and the awesomness just keeps coming... like everything i ever wanted to see made in my life basically I've acquired in the last three years in 12 inches with the rest on the way and plenty more to come after that. This stuff is insanely expensive, i drop 200 bucks like it's 20 bucks... theres no way id even consider 1/4 no matter how awesome it is.

Plus, No one is gonna want a quarter scale Penguin... might as well just get a full sized danny Divito for your living room!

HT can put me down for a Returns Bat, Catwoman and Pengy for sure. Definitely not one of my favorite movies but they would make some very cool figures.

As far as 1/4 scale goes, if HT makes a 1989 Keaton Batman in that scale I'll pass out.

I'm right behind ya passing out :lecture

Don't fall on me :lol

Hot Toys should have just focused on 1/6 scale instead. It's obvious they want to outdo Enterbay after the 1/4 Terminator (which I guess could have been Enterbay copying Hot Toys).

A better competition for Hot Toys would be making 1/6 figures that OUTDO Enterbay.

I don't see this 1/4 thing lasting very long. I doubt it clicks with collectors, it's just a fad. If you're going to make 1/4 figures, make one unique one, like Terminator. Not a line of them. It really is ridiculous.

LOL that's true actually!

But anyways yeah me chiming in wont matter but I too am excited about Returns. I kind of expected it. Still in love with my custom catwoman but I'd welcome another from HT. Definitely Penguin and I hope that we get an actual Keaton head this time.

Plus he looked better in Returns anyways (both as Bruce and Batman)

Well, not really. He has that brown sewer coat as well as the tweed gray "cape" thing he wears outside as mayor.

I doubt they'll give us both looks. They didn't give us multiple looks for Jack's Joker (meaning no beret or green shirt or so many other bits people hoped for).

Like Joker, this will probably be one look -- Mayor Penguin -- with which you could strip down to make a sewer Penguin sans the brown coat.

Why so much hate for 1/4 :lol

Why is it ridiculous :dunno

Like Coco said, a 1/4 89 Batman, or even a BB Batman or TDK Batman would make me pass out.

C'mon void, who you kidding, you would be all over a 1/4 Batman from Nolanverse :tap

Don't front now yo :lol

Coco and I are keeping it real :lol

Im surprised the announced it soo quick. Actually...no im not. Just like i wont be surprised when this is shown and released without even a teaser of the MGS line or anything else other than this and Iron Man

All great points and they need to REALLY think about what would work in 1/4. Not everything as you said...

it has to be damn Iconic. Terminator works... Chris Reeve Superman would work.. Bruce Lee would work...

To be honest I'd even wager to say that both Keaton and Bale batmans are maybe not even worth it. But they are popular enough that i bet they would be successful...

no 1/4 Penguin lol
