Nah, I agree with Void and Raymond. Unless they're one offs of classic characters, 1/4 figures are lame.

1/4 is basically asking "at what scale, as a collector do I stop"? 1/3? 1/2? It's just unnecessary.

1/6 goes all the way back to those original GI Joe figures. Hot Toys took what made that toy, that scale great and added wonderful details and innovations to them. 1/4? I don't care what anyone says the only "wow factor", even if the figure looks amazing is the size. 1/4 is cool as a one off NECA figure, I own Robocop and the Endo myself. But a collectors "action figure", whaaaat?

That's why I don't get those stupid Gentle Giant Jumbo 12" Vintage figures.

Hmmmm....

Nah :lol

What did I tell you about disagreeing with me? :nono

I think it's my 1st :panic: :monkey2 :panic:

SOS Coco SOS

A lot of you act as though BR figures were a given.

Do you think HT will make figures from either Schumacher film?

Arnold's Freeze is kind of like the Battle Droids. Idiotic but still fun and would be hard to pass up.

I believe Batman Forever has a better shot than Batman and Robin. Aesthetically however a 1:6 Mr. Freeze would be rather nice even if the film wasn't that well received.

Personally I'm hoping for at the very least a Kilmer Batman and O'Donnell Robin.

There's not much of a difference in costumes for me to get a Batman Returns figure. Catwoman and Penguin will be key in 1:6 scale for me though.

DX pretty much stands for deluxe.
And to spot the difference between a regular MMS (Movie Masterpiece Series) to a DX (Deluxe) is that in DX figures, they include a PERS (Parallel eye rolling system) where you can move the eyes.

DX figures usually also come with nicer packaging as well.

Wow, thanks for the explanation. That helps a lot. So, were the 1989 Batman and Joker DX's? Sweeney Todd?

If you were smart you would stay away. Trust me it will not end after you get these three!!!

Last year I had some extra cash and thought I purchase my first HT...Berserker. That was seven figures ago!!!!

It's the RED PILL (Stay Away) or BLUE PILL (Welcome) for you.

Yeah, I would probably only get Catwoman, maybe Batman. Danny DeVito did an amazing job as Penguin, but I don't love him enought to own a statue/figure of him.

What else is there to the Penguin? His sewer suit is basically the onesie he has everything else is just extras that could fit over that. It would be like, I don't know, the Heath Ledger Joker having a full, regular suit and you can just take it off and have the interrogation version.

All of the above is completely doable in costume layers isn't it? There's nothing extravagant really.

- onesie (first layer)

- coat 1

- coat 2 (brown)

- coat 3 (mayor)

- waist coat (mayor)

- a few ties (mayor and regular)

- top hat

Then that's it really. Way less than any Joker we've ever seen.

I'd really only want the regular "wealthy, Mayor" version anyway.

That's a lot of looks (coats) to have and no other HT figure has given us so many choices.

Take Jack's Joker as the example. You also wanted the extra green shirt and the beret and explained why its so simple, why not include it? But it wasn't. I think that goes a long way to showing why they wouldn't in this case either. That "fish robe" is very ornate and would take a lot of work to look correct at scale, not just something made quick to throw in.

Believe me, I'd love all the clothing too, but it rarely is the case. T-1000 and DX Ledger aside, it just doesn't happen very often.

Frankly, I think 1/4 should be reserved for 1 or 2 core characters from a series, and their most iconic appearances at that, for example, these are some of the only DC figures that might be interesting to me in 1/4 scale:
-Michael Keaton Batman (89 suit)
-Jack Nicholson Joker
-Christopher Reeve Superman
-Christian Bale Batman (TDK/TDKR suit)
-Heath Ledger Joker
I think 1/4 scale figures are the same scenario as the 1/6 vehicles, they make for nice centerpieces, but aren't good to build a collection around.

Oh Happy Day!!! :blissy
I almost cancelled my 89Batman after seeing this. Next to Batman Begins, my 2nd favorite costume is Batman Returns. It took me awhile to preorder 89bats cause I was hoping they would do Returns.

:fireworksThis figure is gonna look sick!!!! :fireworks

ps. Of course I wont have the willpower to cancel 89bats :lol

You know that on the side of the BR Batman box will be an ad saying "Buy a second Batmobile to display with those side thingies from Returns sticking out!" :panic:

A few of the robes may be too much, you're right. But I'm sure Penguin could have a majority of the outfits he had in the film in one release. Now that you mention it, T-1000 is a great example of this. As far as outfits go they do kind of just evolve throughout the film. With minor changes.

Hot Toys could have thrown in the beret and stuff for Jack Nicholson Joker, but then it wouldn't really fit the scene because they'd have to include a flesh head as well. I really think they have intentions to milk the Nicholson Joker dry with atleast one more variation.

Devito Penguin though? He should be a "one and done". Maybe ditch the elaborate robe, but everything else could still be done. I mean, even if they just did the iconic "Mayor" version he would still have some of those other looks underneath.

My guess is full Mayor in the tweed 'cape' and everything underneath.

I do not think they will include the brown 'graveyard' coat or the 'fish robe'.

That's my guess, I'm sticking to it. I do hope for more though.

Besides, I'd much prefer Penguin to come with a couple umbrellas and a rocket-penguin rather than the extra coats.
